@abcdefgabcdefgz The ex husband tried by forcing the mom to take parenting classes in 2009 as part of the divorce. All the money he threw at them ($250K a year) was also obviously not enough to buy happiness and peace of mind. And the mother obviously was a paranoid delusional thinking the world was going to collapse thats why she stockpiled food and guns in the house meanwhile afraid of her son and contemplating having him committed for mental help meanwhile a little too late lady, your son is 20 years old shoulda done that 15 years ago...

@dragonherderx @tariq128 Mentally disturbed people will cling to these games and find pervasive enjoyment out of them though. That's the devil's advocate argument but it's a dumb argument becauseit doesn't mean normal people will be effected. So the issue is proper parenting and mental health help. Those people were sick before they played the games but because they are sick, the games are an enabler. They certainly do not help their situation. And the CT shooter certainly was not helping his mental health being stuck in his mom's basement not advancing his life and just circling himself down the toilet bowl of depression and disparity until he finally snapped and took advantage of his mom's idiotic irresponsibility of training him how to use guns and keeping them in the house when she knew he had issues that warranted him being committed by her part.

@Sndewey A slight part of it does have to do with American culture. It's like drinking: You can go to France where there's no legal drinking limit but you'll find teens not having the same drinking issues teens in the U.S. do. Because its so readly available, no one gives a crap so they don't consider it 'rebellious and cool'. Same with guns: Americans worship the gun. They have an enormous pride with it. Meanwhile countries like Britain and Japan, the people there could care less about guns. And they have a combined gun violence death rate of under a 100 a year vs U.S. over 12,000 a year. U.S. gun owners and gun companies use the 2nd amendment as a tool of paranoia and fear of tyrannical government to sell millions of guns just like the medical industry now uses all these excuses that we need all these different types of prescription drugs people are getting addicted and OD'ing over.

Just like how the gas companies can manipulate and squeeze us with ridiculous gas prices when they really don't have to.

It's all a business.

@DarthLod If a zoo keeper lets a lion out into the public do you blame the lion? No you blame the zookeeper. The mom should have never allowed guns in her house with a mentally unstable child she was going to have committed. She and her ex were to blame. She waited too long to address the problem and knowingly put weapons in the hands of a lunatic

@AceBalls Guns are a lucrative business. I'd be like saying let's get rid of gasoline

@Seventk nice I agree with you on the parenting part because that was the majority of the problem of this incident: a negligent father who cut off his son for over 2 years and a wacko mom who thought the world was ending so sh was stockpiling guns and food in her house while teaching her known mentally disturbed kid how to use them; then pissing him off when she finally couldn't control him anymore and threatening to have him committed which is what made him get angry and snap. Meanwhile she should have not had the guns in the house and she and her ex should have been tackling the mental problem of their son 15 years ago, when they knew he had problems then too.

@Soulgrind24 abuse of food makes you fat. Abuse of guns in the hands of disturbed people get innocents hurt. Abuse of video games like any obsession is not healthy either. Responsibility and moderation and proper parenting and disciplne
