@mkeezay22 If they had just marketed the Saturn better and not let it die out so soon (and also never release 32X), then Dreamcast could have been released 2001 or so and on DVD rom, (even though DVD players WERE available in 1998/1999, they were too expensive at the time for a console release; not price dropped yet)
@theoldotacon You forget Microsoft had a hand in this, effectively killing off whatever was left of Sega of U.S. , bribing the head guy to drop support for it and secure him a job, and could help pave the way for the XBox when Sega / Microsoft merge talks fell through....

Gambling is illegal in Japan
So people there have gotten used to the addiction that is gambling but without the incentive of actually winning loads of money like in other countries.
The companies making the machines are winning hand over foot because of this and now the mobile game companies are taking advantage of that too.
