Well, the koriki were used more than anything to hide and shield Link until the time was right to begin his adventure. The forest was meant to be a refuge for the player in the early part of the game as Link is amid a perpetual world of innocence, until the incident with the Deku Tree of course. In a way, all the evil that is conducted in the forest is similar to the loss of innocence as one grows older, a concept that reaches fruition upon Ganon's full take over of Hyrule, even taking that which was Link's childhood.

Going back to the concept of safety, Link is essentially a "tree in the forest". Nintendo most likely wanted him among similar individuals for the first part of the game as to feel safer and a greater sense of belonging in a way. This would also provide an origin for Link's odd attire, allowing this Link to set a precedent for future Links. (As Ocarina of Time was considered the first in the series timeline wise at the time.

Technically, Navi wasn't even Link's fairy, he simply "borrowed" her for his adventure in Ocarina of Time, which may be supplemented by her departure at the very end of the game.

That is not to say that Link never developed with the fairy, just that as a Hylian, he was never really entitled to one in the first place.

What is the whole deal with those types of fairies in Ocarina of Time anyways? What happened to them in the Wind Waker? Some rather intriguing questions...

Still it seemed rather probable that the next Zelda game would feature such an art style... Then Wind Waker was shown...

Still, how can one find Twilight Princess easier than Wind Waker?:P

At the very least everything seemed to do more damage in Twilight Princess, lava even took away two whole hearts. (Which could be quite dangerous early on in the game)

I finally got it and its really good so far
but with that being said...
I dont know if I'm the only one here who feels this....but playing a handheld or topdown zelda is never as exciting or memorable experience as playing a 3D console one
like I remember the magic and intigue that came with loading up ocarina of time and majoras mask for there first times
or the massive amount of excitment and satisfaction that came with the gamecube zeldas (TP and WW)
but with PH....I'm just not getting that ( i didnt get it that much with Link to the Past or the Ages games ether)Chaos_Angel_14

Well, it may depend on what you expect in regards to Phantom Hourglass going into the adventure. Although the game is in 3D, the overall adventure has a more laid back nature when compared to the other 3D Zelda titles or other Zelda games in general, or at least it seemed like that in my play through. Being on the handheld and hence playable on the go, it seems a great deal more relaxed for the most part and quite accessible, yet oddly fresh. The touch controls do allow the game to exhibit a different feel when compared to past titles, with is certainly a positive.

It felt similar to Wind Waker, yet more low key in a way and less tedious to navigate.

Problem is, are there really any PS3 games one would enjoy playing outside two or three? At least with backwards compatibility there are more options, among other things that have already been listed...

OMG when I heard that tingle wasnt in Twilight Princess but WTF when I saw the postman. Honestly, in my book there isnt much difference between tingle and a mailman in hot shorts.

Except the mailman doesn't charge you thousands of rupees.:P
