New Off-Topic thread, everything off topic goes here.

Link to last Off Topic thread.

[QUOTE="Gary_Jinfield"][QUOTE="metroid_dragon"]

I never had them either thankfully.

Everyone enjoy their long weekend? (Or everyone who wasn't on summer vacation I should specify)

metroid_dragon

Who wouldn't enjoy a long weekend really?:P

heh, good point.

So I ran accross this little story yesterday; it's a bit of a read, but well worth it.

The Last question

I'm no scientist so I can't really say much on the matter, but it does seem to make sense.

Not to mention I wanted to have 5 different categories for the poll.:P

From the article: "The plasma state is not related to blood plasma, the most common usage of the word; rather, the term has been used in physics since the 1920s to represent an ionized gas."

Shouldn't Plasma be a gas, then ? :P

Because it's so ionized, it's actually quite a bit different from the other states of matter, say as Jello.

The thread was probably losing steam because, well, I'm guessing not much of us care about science. :P

And I'm not that excited for the football season either, more of a baseball guy, myself.

I'm a big baseball fan too, but football is second. Although I'm not hardcore about one specific team, I like the Giants. (In baseball I like the Yankees)

I dislike sports altogether... I just don't like them.

I hate Nascar though, that's the dumbest "sport" I've ever seen. I don't see how driving in a circle for a couple of hours constitutes as a "sport".

I'm a Red Sox fan, myself.

And Nascar is quite stupid, I think. The only time racing is fun is when there are shells, bananas, and thunderbolts about. :P

A perfect example of plasma would be the sun itself. It is above gas as far as states of matter go, and who doesn't think the sun is awesome?! Plasma FTW!

My interest in the Metroid series is rather low at the moment and there are quite a few games that I wish to own coming out relatively soon.

And alas, my interest in Basketball is rather low as well.:P

Ack I know, let's see here, just left so far in 07' we have:

Eternal Sonata
Mercury Meltdown Revolution
Halo 3
Phantom Hourglass
Lost Odysee
Half Life 2: Orange Box (never really played HL2 so gonna do it now)
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
Battalion Wars II
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Crysis
Assassin's Creed
Super Mario Galaxy
Mass Effect
Trauma Center: New Blood (I love this series)
Smash Bros Brawl
Bully (Wii)

I'm hyped for all of those games and consider them "must haves" at the moment, even if we eliminate 50% due to bad reviews or other factors, that's still a stupid amount of games.

And this list isn't including the games that I may want to play depending on review or other factors, like Rock Band, Manhunt 2, Timeshift, Wold in Conflict. Also doesn't include if the PS3 drops to $400 or less and I want to start getting games for that.

Then there are the games I'm still actively playing including Bioshock, Metroid Prime 3, Halo 2 on Live (gotta keep the skills sharp for release day), replaying LttP, Civilization IV... gawd.

MP3 was a pretty good game, I've already beaten it with 100% collected. Get the game when you can.

And there are certainly plenty of games coming out now and later, alot of which are for the Wii. Which is making me glad that I picked one up, definetely!

Oh this year will be glorious, I'm just afraid that I wont get to play them all. When this many great games are coming out with so little time between them. (there is only a single week before december that is doesn't have a must-play coming out for me). I earnestly hope that the good games will start to curb after this, give everyone a chance to catch up. Plus when must have titles come out so quickly, there is usually a void afterwards.

Excellent. Nintendo and related products are usually rather great in endurance.

At any rate, there always appears to be a void of sorts in the summer in regards to gaming. That is usually the best time to finally get caught up on missed games.

Same here, I probably got more than half through the game, got lost, decided to play a couple other games and just forgot about it! Though I've seen my older Brother beat most of the later bosses in the game and I have to say that the last boss is really......weird. :?

I just love the concept of beating on random animals with a bat until they become tame.

Before deciding how cruel that sounds, don't forget that every other RPG has you killing them.

you're also beating up on random objects like paintings and gas pumps. You never see any character from Final Fantasy doing that!

That's why I like carts over discs. My Tetris (GB) still works great and I've had that thing for over 15 years! That little cart has been trough hell and back, but I put it into a Gameboy and it still works. I can't say the same for CDs I've had for half that time. Luckily for me, I've got my CD's all backed up and have stopped using the originals. Buy a CD/DVD, take it out of the package, back it up to my PC, burn a new diec, put away original in a safe place, abuse copy, repeat.

Well it's not, but it certainly stays active enough without being pinned. I'll pin it anyways though.

On a side note, was it really neccesary to bump a topic 1.5 hours after the last post? methinks not.

Why do they call it "stickying" anyways?

I guess it may have to do with making sure it "sticks" around, but it is still a rather odd term...

I was talking about it being used in conjunction with all these other letters.

I just wonder who came up with it all. In a way, they could be the Shakespeare of the internet.:P
