Holy sh*t. That's how Moses parted the Nile though.

I had no idea that Obsidian had teased KotOR 3. I wouldn't mind them making it for the most part. Their story telling's gotten a lot better....

I like Obsidian a lot.

@Fire_Wa11: It sounds like you really need to do some research on these things. I used to just buy games on impulse too and not really know what I was buying but it pays to research especially now more games these days go through long, public testing stages.

Um, huh? At what point did I say I bought any of 'em? I subscribed to EvE Online for a few months here and there in 2008 and 2012. I did a free beta test of Star Citizen is what I was referring to. Jees, dude, if you're going to be condescending at least be halfway decent at it.

Dark Souls, Stalker SoC. And I'm not real great at them and have a hard-time getting into them some times but Sid Meier's Civilization 5 and also Total War: Shogun 2. (This last one I have a really tough time getting into and have pretty much given up.)

There is no way Disney would fund a AAA SP console RPG. There just isn't the return on investment anymore.

Huh? So, there is no money to be made by a Star Wars game outside of Kotor unless it's action/adventure? That is just...yeah...but no.

@crimsonbrute: Id love to see a new Jedi Academy game. Truth be told I have enjoyed most Star wars games

Great combat in those but the puzzles were brutal...especially in the pre-academy one.

Personally? I would love to see an affinity project between Disney/Star Wars/EA and Hidetaka Miyazagi. Dark Souls of the Old Republic anyone?

Now, you may say what does a Japanese developer know about Star Wars? That's irrelevant (and not just because of bald-face prejudice.) As it stands right now, a modder could easily turn the standing Dark Souls into a Sith game.

By the middle of the game, Dark Souls starts to feel very Star Wars-y, specifically Sith-like. Tomb of the Giants could be Dromund Kaas. The Catacombs could easily be Korriban. Demonic Ruins looks just like Mustafar. Even Anor Londo could almost be Coruscant or a part of Cloud City, and the Darkroot stuff might pass for Naboo in a pinch.

So, just give From Software a license to do this one-off, Disney, please! Insist Miyazagi head it up. It would be the best game ever.

You wouldn't need to emphasize long-range weapons anymore than they already are emphasized in Dark Souls just to make it more Star Warsy either. Anyone who has played the Kotor game was probably initially surprised by all the melee weapons -- outside of lightsabers -- in the Star Wars universe: Vibroblades, vibroswords, gamorran war-axes, staves, etc. Just like in Dark Souls, with the right properties, you can convert your highest leveled weapons into a lightsaber. Imagine it's red hue cutting through Miyazagi's dark oppressive atmospheres?

Crossbows are now blasters. Bows are blaster rifles. Like a jedi or a Sith, I found long-range very situational in Dark Souls (remember Kenobi taking down Grievous) so it is yet one more thing that fits perfectly.

Maybe when you raid a Sith you become a Force Ghost and fighting for the lightside. When you are just playing on your own sever your a sith. All the best Jedi and Sith are back and forth between good and bad so it kind of fits.

But the most Star Warsy thing about Dark Souls is the pure act of becoming a bad-*ss through learning the world, seen and unseen, around you. Let me repeat that. The most Star Warsy -- or Sith-like -- thing about Dark Souls is becoming a bad *ss on your own volition by learning the world around you. That, my friends, is pure Sith right there, because this guy....

....has a VERY inquiring mind. Oh, man. This would be the best game EVER! DSOTOR! DSOTOR! Who's with me!?

Meh. I am kind of bummed. A space-pilot sim in my life would be great buuuuuuuuut....

EvE Online -- is $9 extra a month. Now, I wouldn't mind that if it was the only game I played (City of Heroes MMO from 2004 to 2008, baby. Yeah!) ....but that is no longer the case.

Elite Dangerous -- Isn't this PvP only? It's be nice if it had some single player in there but I heard they don't. (Ultimately, that may not bother as I love to play Gotham City Impostors and PLanetside 2.)

Star Citizen -- And Star Citizen I was thinking of getting (though it's gonna' be expensive and probably won't be subject to price drops.) The main drawback, however, is I actually did that thing where they let you test it a bit. What I had access to was limited but, I mean, and I don't even know if I'm suppose to be saying this since they were nice enough to test their game for free, but it's like...nothing really happened in-game when I was testing it. The firing range looked cool but was unavailable, and when I was floating in space in my ship there were no targets or anything happening. Also, walking around in the base I sensed a very low FPS. Literally, nothing happened in the gameplay when I tested it. (I thought I was in the Stanley Parable or something. "Is this a prank?")

I don't mind when I decide against buying a new shiney thing as it saves money and all that, but when the only 3 space-sims on the market have these drawbacks, it's a bummer. Any thoughts?

Is Elite Dangerous pvp as fun as say a twitchy pvp shooter? Those can be fun when you need a jolt of adrenaline (or just want to make the world pay for something.)

Onto Star Citizen, did I just hit a bad testing patch or something? EvE Online we don't need to speculate on because it's been out for years and by now we all know what it is and isn't. (They are bringing manual flight controls in an upcoming patch though which was one of my other complaints about Eve.) It'd be great to play and really enjoy playing Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen but between the former's pvp-only and the latter's testing experience, I dunno.
