Too be clear, though, McShea's points on other games that took the "realistic" approach, saying they're not fun doesn't make sense. The fact that they engage you and terrify you, that entertains people. In turn, that makes them fun. As horrible as that sounds, people find that tension and engagement fun. Games HAVE to be fun, or else people won't want to play them.

It's definitely true that Tom McShea should play the game before condemning the developer's view point of respecting the soldiers. The story may in fact show great respect towards soldiers. McShea is relating their comment about respecting soldiers with the general game play. That's a sound arguement at first glance, but the developer is not saying the general game play is suppose to be ultra realistic, to show respect. He's saying the single player story will.

IE, the multiplayer doesn't even factor into his comments about respect. That part of the game is just for some regular fun. McShea needs to experience the other parts. If he still feels the same, then that will be a different story. For the moment, though, his damning tone is probably a little premature.

The issue isn't button placement. It's also very feasible to allow them to be moved by the joysticks. The problem lies in how to make them properly aim their skills/powers, picking up dropped items, moving items in and around your inventory and other customizing areas. They could make one joystick move, and then one joystick be a mouse pointer (even if only temporary at times), but it would be horrible either way. It would be extremely bogged down.

I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard is working on a console version of the game, but if you know Blizzard, you know that it doesn't necessarily mean that they will ever actually release it. Blizzard has no qualms with spending time and resources on a game and then deciding to just junk it if it didn't work out to their expectations.

The moment that Sony and Microsoft FINALLY announce and/or reveal their next-gen consoles, Valve will announce Half-Life 3. Guarantee it.

I was waiting to hear the cons. The only thing that popped up was having to be online at all times. That lowered it down 1.5 points? I guess I should go read the written review, but considering the video is suppose to be a summary and explanation of the score, this didn't seem all that clear to me.

Guess I'll just chime in that I hate the new comments as well. Sites never listen to their users when they make changes like this, though.

I can think of several titles where you're an "average Joe". I don't get this video at all, though. Developers are against letting us play as the average joe? I think they're just providing what most gamers want. We enjoy playing as cool, and powerful characters, because we play games to escape reality. I have never heard of any gamers complaining about playing characters that are not normal enough. Having said that, as I mentioned previously, I can think of many games where you're just a normal person thrown into a crazy situation.

It's been reported by many that the GH3 Les Paul sometimes doesn't hit notes on time or register very well on Rock Band. You can be holding down a button and strum and it will miss at times. Randomly it seems.
