I see your point about owning a physical copy, but that's a personal issue people have to deal with. Personally, I love physical copies, even CE's of certain games, but I love gaming even more. If I can get the same game online for $10 cheaper than retail, I'm downloading.
And even though I should have elaborated more in my first post (I'm more angry at the fact that I thought this was going to be a new JoJo game, not a remake), they aren't remaking his game to pay bills, they're doing it because it's easy money. Now, I know I'm talking out of my rear waste expulsion unit here, but I haven't read about a company complaining about their PSN or XBL sales of remakes, so i'm pretty sure a conversation like this goes on at HQ....
"Look, our recent studies show that 2 million people would buy this game right now. We've decided our budget for this game by estimating that 500,000 people really will buy this game @ $20, and this is the size of team that can get it done profitably in 6 months."

If getting Hardcore gamers and Nintendo fanboys to buy it is their goal, how is this not "working"? Michael Pachter is actually a decent analyst, in subjects other than gaming. Worst case scenario is that the Wii U becomes their next GC; Technically more powerful than its' competing consoles (and no, we will not compare it to the NextBox or PS4), it will revive classic franchises (Pikmin for starters), give us a few well made new IP's, bring back some 3rd parties we lost with the Wii, and enjoy modest sales.
Wow, another Capcom HD remake......... You know that old saying, "Be careful what you wish for"?
No wonder console makers are getting rid of backwards compatibility; The box is cheaper to make and the profit margin for a DL game is better than a retail sale.
@emperiox What broken ones? Hadn't heard there was a problem. Other than a few dead pixels, but every handheld went through that. Oh, I get it.... You hate the system and can't find a real reason to bash it so you made one up. You should have just gone with the "So 5 million parents bought a toy for their kids" line, you get a lot more people on your bandwagon that way.
The wait is usually worth it when it comes to Rockstar, so I can deal with the long dev times. As much as I dislike some forms of DLC, I do hope more episodes like TLATD and TBOGT show up again.
OK, now I see why Crystal Dynamic and Square Enix have been so weird in regards to this. I'll bet that when this all started, someone from CD or SE wanted to hold a press conference and say "If you have a problem, here's the FEMALE lead writer, take it up with her."
It sounds sexist, but let's all be honest with ourselves for a moment. If there was a female lead programmer, producer, or director, or if they had told us about Rhianna Pratchett in the first place, things would have been different. People would have seen that same scene, and gushed about Women's empowerment, that female writers are standing out in a male dominated sector and the ability to over come blah blah blah blah blaahhh. Instead, we got two guys showing off the new trailer, followed by cries of sexism, exploitation, blah blah blah blah blaaahhhhh. And that was before CD released that confusing statement.
Either way, I can't wait to hear what Pratchett has to say in few hours, if that Comic-Con stage show schedule is right.
If they're going to release these games, fine, but don't gouge us on it. All three announced platforms have a way to download games. I know the enhancements cost money to do, but not that much.
