well, they can't just add a Blu-ray drive and start having Blu-ray game, what would happen to millions of Xbox360 owners that have DVD drive?

...why new system now, the Xbox360 is still very fresh. I wonder if the new Xbox will have Blu-ray drive in it.

Elijah Wood and The Killers to host half-hour global premiere of the next Xbox console.

MTV: Music Television and Microsoft today announced a global marketing agreement to unveil the next-generation Xbox(R) video game system on MTV channels in the United States, Asia Pacific and Europe, all within a 24-hour window, a first for the game industry.

Hosted by purported "Xbox fanatic" Elijah Wood (known for his role as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings), the segment will show gameplay footage of next-gen Xbox games, a look into the future of Xbox Live, and exclusive insider footage on the making of the next-generation console.

"We recognize and celebrate our viewers' passion for gaming and are excited to be working with Microsoft to launch such a significant entertainment product," said John Shea, executive vice president, Integrated Marketing and Sponsorship Development, MTV Networks Music Group. "We're proud that Microsoft considers MTV the premier global network to launch its new Xbox gaming console and reveal the first look to MTV viewers around the world."

The show will air on Thursday, May 12 at 9:30 p.m.

your thoughts on the matter people?

[QUOTE="EvilSpeaker"][QUOTE="hiryu3"] [QUOTE="lostsoulsofmn"]microsoft will get the liscense, but its going to come with a HUGE price tag attached to it. way to go sony! i never lost faith in you guyshermes200
How does Sonydetermine the price for lisencing when THEY DON'T OWN BLU-RAY. Why do people keep saying this over and over again?

fact: Sony is one of and the biggest ownner of Blu-ray technology, along with eight other company that help pushing Blu-ray format.

Which means if Sony is not willing to sell the technology, MS can go to 8 different options...

you know, i'm not going to agrue with childish topic like this, you should go learn how board associate bussiness work then post your comment about munity.

nonetheless, if Microsoft want the technology, they will get it. It's the market law, look it up.
