Uncompressed audio takes up how much space per minute? I know .WAV files take up about 10megs per minute. So even 40gigs of .WAV files would be about 67 hours of audio.

So again, what exactly, is on the disk that is taking up all that space, cause 67 hours of audio is a bit insane.

MGS1 was great but it was hardly epic i was able to get through that game in under 3 hours, 2? it was a insane adventure that made no sense unless you knew every facet of the storyline of every mgs game.

And put it this way Uncompressed audio will probably not be the only reason for the large size lets hope its true the game uses only in game cut scenes.

Unfortunately your opinion that it is comic book garbage is just that. It also sounds as if you are implying that all comic book fiction is garbage. While I won't go as far as to say that all comic book lit is quality, comic books did give us the story of V for Vendetta, the Dark Knight, and even a recent release that deals with humanity and real individuals addressing real people set in the marvel universe. While you may feel this is garbage, I personally have been moved by comic books, and I was also moved by the story in MGS. As far as stories in video games go, I think (yea, my opinion) that MGS is one of the best to date.

edit: Oh, and if you doubt my literary proficiency, I just finished On the Road, by Jack Kerouac, I have read Tolkien, Faulkner (Absolom Absolom), Heinlein, Dickens, Austin, Twain, Shakespear, and quite a few other authors that I either can't think of off the top of my head, or just don't want to list.

comic book storys are really different from the stories in the 90's. their grittier and actually tell a meaningful story. to bad the same cant be saig for the mgs storyline and horrible stealth gameplay.

I should point out that much of the audio is not all played in a linear fashion. the player can call the characters on the radio to hear bonus conversations and easter egg material. not all of it is spelled out in one playthrough, and it will surly be impossible to experience it all in one playthrough, no matter how much of a veteran the gamer is. there are alternate cutscenes, encounters, and recordings of dialogue.

i dont know about you, but i dont want a story told to me over a ten year period.

each game contained a huge and satisfying segment of the overall arch. sure, there have been questions at the end of each one, but you're not immediatly starving for more. what you experienced is something that sticks.
