My Sennheiser HD202 arrived today and WOW! There are so many little details I never noticed before, like the bongo drums that was playing in the song "Gimme Three Steps" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, I never even thought there were bongos playing. So my mind = blown.

Oh and the cymbals are waaaaay more cleaner, on my old headphone it's just muddy.

stevoqwerty

The 202s are a great set of headphones for the price. For $20 they sound incredible, and they are infinitely better than the crappy iPod earbuds. The bass is very good. The 202s have been good to me, but I'll be getting HD 555s when I have $100 to spare. I'm sure it will be a glorious day.

And don't forget, if your 202s break, just mail them back with the receipt, and they'll send you a new pair. Gotta love the two year warranty.

Edit: I should mention that after the first day or two using the 202s, my ears really hurt. But that went away over the next couple days, and now they are incredibly comfortable. I can wear them for hours without even noticing.

Not all headphones are expensive. It all depends on quality.

You can get headphones at the dollar store for $2, but it will sound like you're listening to your music through a concrete wall. On the other hand, if you're listning to the same song through $1,400 Sennheiser HD 800s, if you close your eyes you'll swear the band is playing right in front of you.

And sound quality goes up exponentially for a while, but after about $100, there are diminishing returns. You can get great headphones for $100. Even though $1,400 headphones will sound better than $100 headphones, those $100 headphones will sound much, much, much better than $2 headphones.

Frankly, I think this is a little low. I question their algorithm.

Living country music legend Willie Nelson was charged with possession of marijuana after six ounces were discovered aboard his tour bus in Texas, according to a U.S. Border Patrol spokesman.

Nelson's tour bus pulled into a routine checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas -- approximately 85 miles east of El Paso -- around 9 a.m. on Friday. When an officer noticed a suspicious odor coming from the bus, a search turned up the marijuana, police said.

Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West told the El Paso Times that Nelson, 77, claimed that the marijuana was his.

According to police patrolman Bill Brooks, a sheriff from Hudspeth County was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested at the scene. Nelson was held briefly and paid a $2,500 bond before being released.

Mickey Raphael, Nelson's longtime harmonica player, spoke with Rolling Stone magazine regarding the incident and Nelson's release, telling the magazine that "he said he feels great -- he lost six ounces."

"It's kind of surprising, but I mean we treat him like anybody else," West told the El Paso Times. "He could get 180 days in county jail, which if he does, I'm going to make him cook and clean. He can wear the stripy uniforms just like the other ones do."

At the time Nelson was traveling from California to his ranch in Austin, Texas. Because he was released, it is not expected that the arrest would affect his tour, which continues with a concert in Thackerville, Okla., tonight.

Elaine Schock, Nelson's spokeswoman, declined to comment when contacted by The Associated Press.

Nelson, a staunch advocate of decriminalization of marijuana, has had his share of drug-related brushes with the law.

In Louisiana in 2006, 1.5 pounds of marijuana and three ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms were found on his bus. Nelson pleaded guilty in that case and each was sentenced to a $1,024 fine and six months probation.

Back in 1995 Nelson was also arrested in Waco, Texas, and police officers said they saw a joint in his car's ashtray. Nelson had pulled off the road to sleep after an all night poker game. At the time he also confessed that there was small amount of marijuana on the car's floorboard.

Nelson, a Texas native who was born in the tiny town of Abbott, has been an icon of the country music scene since the early 1970s, when he rose to prominence in the outlaw country movement of the time with albums like "Red Headed Stranger" and ****c tracks like "On the Road Again" and a famous cover of Fred Rose's "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain."

Nelson is a co-chair of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) advisory board, and has worked for years for marijuana legalization. He has recorded and produced radio and television commercials for the cause, and in 2005 hosted the Willie Nelson & NORML Benefit Golf Tournament at his personal golf course in Spicewood, Texas.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]

Sales don't always mean top 40 radio play. As I said...the rock bands sold but they were played on AOR stations which weren't the most mainstream of stations. It's like the bands in the 80s that had hits but were mostly played on college stations. You don't have to be played to garner top hits. Even with Zeps number one album...they were still only played on your towns one AOR station on the FM band. Not the nationwide Top 40 AM stations.....

mexicangordo

Exactly. just look at the countless bands we all go back to for iconic reference, i.e; Radiohead, Zep, Zappa, Hendrix, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Joy Division, My Bloody Valintine....ect They never had a top 40 hit, yet are remembered more so than bands that garnered much more radioheavy play and hits.

http://www.billboard.com/#/artist/radiohead/chart-history/33472

But regardless, the point I was making is that their music was popular. Sales might not always mean top 40 radio play, but they do mean that the music is popular and people want to hear it. In fact, album sales is probably a better gauge of how popular your music is than a single song's position on the pop chart. I don't care whether their songs were played on pop stations. The bands I mentioned sold tons of records and had number one selling records. Hell, Zeppelin didn't even like to release singles since they focused on the experience of their albums rather than trying manufacture a hit. I don't see how whether pop stations were playing their singles has anything to do with my point.

And LJS9502_basic, Zeppelin had number one albums (plural).

That looked like it was staged, but given the same situation, most people would've done the same thing.hiphops_savior

It wasn't staged. Rampage just does that kind of stuff when he feels like it.

Here's an interview with the reporter from after the humping.

Jimmy Traina: What did you think when Rampage started, um, getting frisky? Did you think it was funny or did you take offense?

Nichols: At first I was just shocked when he grabbed me, and all I could think was, "Oh my gosh, what is he doing?!" Then I tried to play along a little bit because I knew he was trying to be funny, but after about the first 5-10 seconds, it was just plain awkward. I kept thinking, "What should I do? Knee him? Keep going?" So I decided to keep asking questions, assuming he would stop if I did that. So I asked another question, and he kept going. I asked ANOTHER question, and he kept going. At this point I was just freaking out, but still trying to be a professional and ask all the questions I was assigned to ask, and this has been interpreted by some viewers as me liking it and egging him on. This was definitely not the case. I was hired to do a job, which was to interview Rampage, so I decided to put up with his shenanigans and finish the interview.

Traina: Had you interviewed or met him ever before?

Nichols: No, I had never met or interviewed him before. I had, however, watched some of his other interviews online, but somehow missed the other interview where he [acts inappropriately with] a reporter, so even after my research, I still wasn't prepared for that one.

Traina: When was this video filmed?

Nichols: June 25.

Traina: Has he apologized since then?

Nichols: No, not at all. He was very, very pleased with himself.

By the way, Rampage is a born-again Christian.

I guess that even Jesus can't keep a man from humping this.

[QUOTE="MrBlazing_S"]Why the hell did he do that? Surely he could resist his urges better than that.MrBlazing_S

You must not be very familiar with Rampage. He's not the most responsible man in the world. If he wants to hump you, you're getting humped. If he wants to terrorize the streets in his monster truck, you better stay inside until the cops show up.

:D Oh right, I didn't know who he was. Does he do that because he's an obnoxious man, or does he have some problems

He's pretty obnoxious and he has some problems. He's really funny though. The monster truck thing happened after he lost the UFC LHW title. He basically stopped eating and sleeping and just lived on energy drinks for a few days. He ended up in his monster truck driving the wrong way down streets and destroying a lot of property. He pleaded guilty and "mental health therapy" was part of the agreement.

If you're a gamer, you might have played him. He's says he's always on XBox Live.

breakinglaws

He's been in more than one movie. But regardless, he's a celebrity. A whole lot of people know who he is, whether it's because of his fighting, his reality shows, or that movie. He's not as big of a celebrity as someone like Tom Cruise, but he's a bigger celebrity than just about anybody on any of those celebrity reality shows.

[QUOTE="AL_GREEN"]Why is celebrity in quotes is it because he's black?breakinglaws

He isn't really a celeberty, he is a fighter who happens to be famous.

I'd say he counts as a celebrity.
