allright all you vista haters explain once and for all why you hate vista, think of the improvements Microsoft has made for vista, take that in mind when you write on this board. I challenge you!jbox1992

The only reason why I buy Windows PCs is because Windows is compatible with the most games. Vista is compatible with far fewer games than XP. If game compatibility was not the main issue, I might as well go with a Mac OS-- an elegant OS with good features, fewer viruses. and boot camp.

you are a little low on power, but should do it. your power supply should handle it, but if things start bugging out, that is probably the problem. your cpu can drive the 8800 line fine.

Just to make sure your dad didn't upgrade the video when he bought it, right click desktop, choose properties, choose settings, read what it says in the "display" field. If it says something like "radeon 1100" that is the onboard video and you need an upgrade.

ok, i will give you the info and not call u a fool.

the problem with your system is you have a onboard video solution. rather than independent. it is slow, and can only handle older 3-d games. however, you have an open pci express x 16 slot, which means you have the world open to you as far as expansion. For the price of two or three games, you can get a PCI express graphics card that will let your PC run most new games well. And next I would get more ram. 2 gigs is better than 1 gig. 1 gig is ok, though. You have a decent dual core chip, not quite as fast as the amd 64 x2 or the Core two duo, but very serviceable.

I quit WoW about 9 months ago and now they sent me BC. Like, blizzard sent it to me, in the mail. It came in a nice slick DVD case that just sits there on my table begging me to install it.

Acemaster27

They want you back as their crack addicated hoe. You can here the DVD talking now... "play me Ace... play me Ace.. I can't play myself Ace. I'm still here Ace. Play me Ace."

You might also like Bungie's Myth series-- is similar-- 3d & sprite, rts squad vs squad, medieval fantasy theme. That was fun.

Your system is not bad, except for the onboard graphics, which means you have to look to very old games. I would stick to 2-d games like starcraft and diablo 2, until you upgrade your graphics.

I would blow off the game entirely and save up for a AGP or PCIexress graphics card, assuming you have a slot. You can get a card that will blow your graphics away, literally, for about 60-70 bux, about the price of a game or two. check around places like newegg and tigerdirect for lowest prices.

Deus Ex

Its an awesome first-person shooter! Guns and armor and sharp sticks, oh my!

No, its an amazing RPG! Character interaction, skills, and an awesome plot!

Actually, its a hybrid of both! Its problably the most replayable single-player game in existence imo. Proof? I play it about 4 times a year ever since I got it bundled with my sound card...god, what a totally unexpected gem!

mrbojangles25

Amoung the first of the fps/rpg hybrids. System shock, I want to say, preceeded Deus Ex.

Alright thanks guys, I'm thinking of buying Rainbow Six: Vegas. Thanks again. K00laznspikie

The multiplayer interface is a bit funky. To get to most of the coop matches, choose the "custom match" button in the multiplayer interface, even if you are joining a public game, rather than hosting. Every time i have checked there have been many coop games ready to be joined.

In coop mode, the game plays just like a tactical FPS, not complex at all to control, since you are not controlling a squad. You can jump right in, though you will die a lot at first in "realistic mode" the most difficult mode that is frequently played on the coop servers... but at least you will figure all the controls out very fast.
