@jimmythang: You're right. I guess I'm more thinking about the move towards higher resolutions (but that seems to be going slower than most expected). If you wanted to upgrade to a 1440p monitor, you'd be coming up a tad short.
Regardless, though, I liked the video. It's quick and informative. The more you do the happier I am!
@computernoises: I went pretty bold this latest build and got a Corsair Carbide Quiet 400Q. It doesn't even have a slot for a DVD drive. 3.5 months in and I haven't needed it yet since I already ripped all my DVDs. I keep waiting for the time I need to grab myself a USB 3 BD/DVD drive.
Coming from someone that spent nearly double that on my latest build...$700 is still an exorbitant amount of money. There aren't many people that have that kind of cash to throw around. And even then, this PC build is pretty weak, and won't get you much in the way of longevity.
@pongley: They did engine development across all versions of the game. They do that for probably 70% of Unreal Engine games. Outside of Epic, no one knows the engine better than they do.
@Xirtahm: No one, because there was no NDA to break. And who is the governing body that would decide out of the blue that a person should lose their job? Do you even know what an NDA is, let alone the things Square would need to do to even win a suit against GameSpot for breaking an NDA (which didn't exist in the first place)?
At best, Square blacklists GameSpot and they freeze them out of E3 appointments and review copies. Then you will come back here on September 30th crying that they don't have a review up for FFXV, and be complaining that they don't have Square on their E3 stage to show off more properties.
So in the end, the person that loses most is you, because covering Square sure as shit isn't bringing in big bucks for GameSpot, and Square doesn't need their coverage, either. So the ones worst off are the whiny fanboys that are sad a goddamn game release date leaked out early as if that is something to fucking care about. Wah wah wah, a video game you might want to play is coming out, what ever will you do?
@Oogazi: They absolutely meant to mislead. If they didn't, they would have shown both prices on the slide at once, instead of only announcing the $400 version and not saying anything about the camera until asked later.
Two bundles, one with camera for $450, one without for $400. That was really hard, right?
Except most people don't have a camera, so the first bit of consumer version publicity going out there with the main bundle being something that cost more than the actual console itself at launch would not go over well at all.
