I think you're the first person I've met that agrees to my perception of the game so far.

It looks to me like the game plays like a predecessor to Spider-Man 2. Not story wise, but in the mechanics and the controls.

Why is it PlayStation 2 could make web slingin' that gathered and carried momentum in straight lines or around corners? Why can't you cut the webline short on the corner of a building to snap around it and go rocketing off in a new direction on Playstation4?

Here, it's like the dev team was still trying to figure out quite how to implement it. About the combat, I can't say anything about it until I get my hands on it.

On a side note, I wonder how much of the game exists in tact as far as the dev team's original vision of the final product, and how much of it resulted from executive meddling from the publishers.

I didn't object to what he had to say about gameplay or story, I objected to how much time he spent complaining about things that are just part of the character.

And as to your remark about "may I have another," I haven't paid money for a console Spiderman game since Ultimate Spiderman on PS2(where the decline from the perfection that was Spiderman 2 began). Now that they're finally starting to shift Spiderman games back in the right direction, I absolutely will support it. And I hope TAS3 improves even further on the formula.

Also, your argument about rushed tie in games is invalid- Edge of Time, Shattered Dimensions, and Web of Shadows were all inferior to PS2's Spiderman 2.

You complain because the city doesn't like you no matter how much good you do? That's Spiderman's whole deal.

You say 'if they don't like me, screw 'em'? Spiderman keeps at it. That's why he's been around for 50+ years.

You ask why he spends so much time dealing with street hoods? He's a street level hero- he spends as much time dealing with faceless thugs as he does duking it out with super villains. That's who he is.

How far would this score be revised were it not for your seemingly complete ignorance of the subject matter, I wonder...

This guy can seriously go f*ck himself. I'm not taking these criticisms seriously until Cortana's holo-boobs shrink back to Halo: CE size.

Seriously? Pogs lasted a summer and I guarantee not one entity made a million bucks off of them. Call of Duty's been megahuge for 7 years now and has made countless millions of dollars. Sure I detest them and refuse to buy them, but I still see the difference between them and pogs.

Most of what I do in this game is play solo.

What exactly do you mean, "the visuals are muddy"? The default brightness setting is all the way to the left, so if this is what you're complaining about, just turn it up until you can see. That's what I did, and now I can see everything just fine.

Combat is anything but just mashing buttons. Which you'd know if you bothered playing the game.

I've got no problem liking bad games, and also recognizing them as bad games. This is not the case with THIS game.

I recognize the game has bugs- some of which are wildly inconvenient. But they are not as prevalent as the reviewer claims.

I also stand in direct opposition to his claim that the combat doesn't function properly. I wonder how much time(if any) he spent in the dojo actually learning about the moves as he unlocked them- how to do them, what purposes they serve and the conditions required to execute them. I'll further admit to the odd design decision to use a camera-lock modifier+the right stick to execute some moves, but while it isn't 100% reliable, again, it functions as intended much more often than it doesn't.

The reviewer also seems to forget that he's reviewing a downloadable game that weighs in at one-fourth the capacity of a 3DS game cartridge and one quarter the price of the average retail release. To judge such a game by the same metric as something like Arkham City is folly, and should be viewed as such.

It's a game that does one thing. And in my exhaustive experience with games that focus primarily on a similar mechanic, this is one of the bery best. So thanks for your input.

This is such crap! Everywhere I go I see nothing but hate for this game. I've been playing this game nonstop since it launched and while I have experienced the odd glitch, the game functions as intended much more often than it doesn't.

I've had to restart due to a failure of an enemy to spawn 3 times in a dozen missions(3 full playthroughs), a dozen or so runs through the survival mode, countless single challenges and 2 or 3 runs through the arcade mode.

As for the complaint about the combat system, learn to play it before you slam it as nonfunctional. I consistently rack up at least 20 hit combos and sometimes get above 60. You couldn't accomplish such a feat on a system that works as poorly as you claim it does. And that isn't even mentioning that the combat system in Out of the Shadows takes everything great about Arkham combat and improves on it- environmental interaction, post-counter finishers, special moves and team combat.

In short, don't hate on it just because you stink at it.

Seems to me someone's got something backwards somewhere. Microsoft should be pushing Bethesda to do away with the fee entirely for Xbox users.

I loved the hell out of Sleeping Dogs- the whole goodguy/badguy undercover inner conflict, the focus on melee combat but with a weighty shooting system along with it... but that foreign setting can take a flying leap. Driving on the left can suck it.
