How is the new ps3 working out? Good buy, or should we all keep/buy slims while we still can?dewc1
To be honest I haven't had a heck of alot of time to play it so far. It's been a busy last couple of days. Plus when I do have the time, all I'm doing is installing all my games so I don't have to do it later. But my initial reactions are that the blu-ray drive is a little louder than my fat PS3 or even the slim, mostly because the only thing seperating the disc from open air is the plastic cover. But while installing everything so far I haven't even heard the fan for the system and even the spinning of the disc is a whisper compared to how loud my fat 60GB, even when it was right out of the box. So I'm happy so far, but still haven't put it through the paces of a full hour or so of gaming.

Madden... Or at least the EA stranglehold on the NFL license so I can play a football game again. I refuse and always will refuse to buy any Madden game because I: 1. hate the franchise because 2k was much better 2. dislike the gameplay since it feels so unrealistic 3. just all around dislike EA Honorable mention would have to go to the GTA series. Maybe not stop it completely, but I think it's time for a re-imagining since many games have come out since GTA4 that did the open world, crime sim much better. Saints Row to name one...

It's gotten too generic. It was survival horror before. I'll never forget in RE2 when me and some friends were playing late at night with the lights turned off when that guy jumped through the wall at us at one point. It was that kind of game where you were running around, not knowing where they were going to come from next that made it fun. Now it's just a generic 3rd person shooter if anything, littered with quicktime events during video segments (which are far too frequent from what I understand). They just strayed too far away from the core gameplay that made the original RE's so much fun if you ask me.

The PS3 Slims are not supposed to "up and Die" as the PS3 phats did. Power surge or something. Bad luck

jojo198

Bad luck? Not so close! It's more like he had a bad luck when he bought the console at the first place. Get a wii instead!!

[QUOTE="bb2945"][QUOTE="Dysantic"]When you turn it on, does the standby red light come on? Can you hear the disc spin when you turn it on? Did you try removing the harddrive and making sure it is in properly? Is your system completely covered in dust and possibly overheating? Is it sad that any an all of these could be the cause? lol

the red standby light comes on, the disc only spins for about 1/2 second. the ps3 is pretty dusty. Is there any chance of sending it sony on the warranty?

Well, I'll bet its overheating due to the dust. Give it about a day and clean it out with a compressed air can or worst case, your vaccuum and then give it a try. If its really dusty you brought this on yourself...

"The next generation will offer more and more item-based content. This will benefit our games profitability" But it will destroy their sales... Let them figure it out the hard way. No one will pay full price for a game that then requires you to pay even more in order to do well or even beat it. Thats a horrible business model and is exactly the reason why so many actual free to play games die very quickly. Although the real problem with this whole model is the doorknobs that fuel it by spending boatloads of money in order to get ahead quicker. It's these people that are giving these companies the thought that it might be a sustainable way of doing business...

Oooh, a guy on an internet forums using stupid memes, how original, hahahah does it bother you that you're exactly the same as so many other douchebags that roam these forums? Get a mind of your own boy. lukeyAUS
Douchebags that roam these forums? More like "douchebags that run the Internet community", lol..

Honestly, though, that's just how the empathetic and ruthless nature of the Internet has and probably always will have been, if you ask me. Not trying to defend it or anything, but going forth and snapping at the first sign of hostility isn't exactly going to help all that much either.

I've put up with it forever, but lately it seems like EVERYONE thinks its cool to be the trolliest troll of them all, its pathetic.

You don't snap on him and he goes away. You go nuts on him and you think hes not gonna post up again? Thats the beauty of internet forums, you can pay attention to whatever or whoever you want...

Recycled story and numerous quicktime events can only keep people interested for so long. Why they turned to recycling all the bad stuff that came from the franchise I'll never know. I didn't even plan to buy this game after playing RE5. It was fun, but only in splitscreen co-op. Now I have Borderlands 2 to play scplitscreen for now.
