@alien33: Technically this is still true since it's not a new version of the game but rather like a Game of the Year edition of the original Street Fighter V. The original game is still compatible with every release.
As much as it's very sad that they've had to receive this kind of treatment, maybe they shouldn't have actively antagonized people in their announcement of the exclusivity...
@gessekai: Wouldn't it technically be racist to say that a white person can't voice a Indian character? I mean, if Homer was voiced by a black guy no one would have thrown a fit about it.
@Dark_Mits: Emulation is legal. It's legal to develop and legal to charge for it. Or in this case, accept donations for it. There are already several commercial emulators out there. So if Sony tried to stop it, it would be thrown out immediately.
@sam453oh: True, nothing was shut down. A better headline would be like "Mention of game in emulator description removed upon publisher request"... Guess it's not as click baity though...
This changes nothing though. Atlus can't stop the development of the emulator since emulators are legal and they can't prevent that emulator from emulating Persona 5 since emulation is legal. And Patreon has publicly refused to act against the Patreon since again, emulation is legal. Heck, the dev didn't even have to remove the mention of Persona if they didn't want to (probably just did it to not make enemies within Atlus) because Atlus doesn't have a legal case here since to conclude, emulation is legal.
Let's just ignore what the little kids are whining about. Some day they'll grow up and regret their childish tantrums and use that as fuel to better themselves. Either that or they're already grown up and there's no hope for any of them anymore and we might as well just accept the coming downfall of humanity...
