I have a wild and crazy idea! Why don’t we start making movies based on original stories that haven’t been told before. No sequels. No rebooting. No more short cuts.

@ThePlantain: Well I have been a lifelong fan, and I had seen every movie in the theater since 1977. And not just once. Multiple viewings in the theater. I saw The Last Jedi one time in the theater, and I have no intention of ever watching it again. That one viewing told me everything I need to know about the direction this franchise is going in. I haven’t seen Solo, and I never will. With the exception of Rogue One the new movies are not part of the overall story to me. They’re simply bad fan fiction. I know that the consensus is that everyone complains, and then goes to see the movies anyway, but I for one don’t.

@naruto945: I hope that the younger generations all agree with you. I hope they all think that they are old and boring. That way they won’t buy tickets, and merchandise. I really want these movies and TV shows to stop. The people in charge haven’t a clue as to what they’re doing. I would rather there never be another Star Wars thing ever made again if this is their best effort.

Well that movie is going to be bad. It looks bad, it’s following two terrible movies and it was co-written by the guy that wrote the script for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

@mboettcher: And yet they won’t. As long as people pay for it they don’t care. If everyone stays away things will change very quickly. Disney is in this for the money. Nothing wrong with that. But if we don’t like what they’re doing then we can put a stop to it by simply closing our wallets.

Han was killed, because he was dumb enough to walk out onto a bridge with his sociopath son and ended up tossed off of it with a hole in his chest. Luke died of hemorrhoids due to drinking unpasteurized alien milk. What heroic end awaits Lando? Maybe an undetonated falling bomb will bonk him on the head while he’s floating around in space without a suit. Or C-3PO will rip his limbs off as revenge for his treatment in Cloud City so many years ago. No, I doubt that one. It would indicate that the writers had seen the original movies, and we know that’s never happened. I know! Lando will fall down a short flight of steps, and die. That’s the new Star Wars.

The things he says are as confused and pointless as his movies. At least he’s consistent.
