There is really no reason to believe in a god of any sort outside of what a book and groups of people tell you. There has been no physical evidence of miracles ever in the history of man, and everything we have replicated with science and the right conditions has shown us time and time again a lot of crazy stuff can happen when the elements are just right.

Outside of a book there is no reason to believe a god created anything. The only real evidence needed is physical evidence. Unless some event occurs which cannot be explained or replicated in any way, there is no reason to believe a god exists.

Ahh, this is why I have faith. God is real, and he works through natural means. He doesn't need some black hole to open up to make his will happen on Earth. Imagine Earth as a great plan he has had in motion for billions of years. He can plan for natural events, and plan for miracles. This is the part where people say, well then I don't really have a choice, but in truth you do. Imagine God is your best friend. He knows you so well, that he knows what you are going to do next. He knows what everything and everyone is going to do next, so he plans for it. He truly is all powerful and all knowing.

Frankly parents aught to decide what their children learn, which is why government should get out of Public Education. Let the parents decide where to send their kid to school. If they want their child to learn creationism, then that's what they'll learn.

Just another sign that California wants nothing more than full on socialism in their state. Let em go to pot (pun intended) if that's what they want! Just don't take money from my conservative state with a balanced budget to bail them out.

This is an interesting thread. It's funny because I was just thinking about this today. I was in the Denver Museum of Natural History, going over this in my mind. I do believe in God, and I also believe that evolution may have been the way things formed. There is no reason in my mind that God and Science can't harmonize. I believe God works through natural means. Miracles happen through the use of science. I don't believe what God does is "magic". Maybe Adam was the first human being to "wake up" and gain consciousness. You could also say he was the first one with a spirit sent down into his body and that's when the bible picks up. When it talks about God creating the Earth in 7 years I believe the years are figurative. Maybe one God-year is actually a billion years to us? As for taking the rib from the man and creating the woman I can't explain that besides maybe a bad translation or more symbolism.

In any case, believing in God only grants weight to my belief in evolution. I looked at the space exhibit today and just thought...something intelligent made this happen. It's just too perfect. Only a perfect being could have created it. Only a perfect being could have had such a grand plan to evolve the Earth over billions of years to give his beloved spirit children a mortal experience. It's beautiful really...

I wish I could be Michelle Bachman's campaign manager. I could totally get the woman elected. She has the strong fiscally conservative views that will appeal to the Tea Party and she is also a social conservative. She has a solid voting record, and she seems intelligent. It's a shame that nobody is talking about her. I feel like if she were to say something besides "REPEAL OBAMACARE" and "I have 20-whatever kids" then people would begin to take notice. I'm going to laugh when she wins the Iowa caucus though where she won the strawpole. Maybe then she will get some serious mainstream support. This business about electability just kills me too. She could beat Obama if she did it right.

Don't forget the GM bail out which not only saved the company but has shown they are paying back the debt and have posted a huge profit growth in the last quarter..

Oh dear, this too big to fail business is really getting on my nerves. The government should have saved there money. They could have spent it on more billion dollar vacations for Obama. Look at what happened to Palm. They were bought up by HP and they are better off for it.

"dear bush administration,

THANKS for the sweet deal. That 12 billion funneled though aig to bail our dumb ---es out was especially slick. hit me up when you're in the city, we'll go to the hustler club.

you pal,

goldman sachs full of taxpayer money"

Bush turned into a disaster. He left the conservative principals way behind. It started bad with no child left behind and got worse.

That's not even close to true. If so, why is the far left so unhappy with him?

jaydough

Because, on top of being an extreme lefty, he's sprinkled in a lot of socialist ideals during his presidency.

This is bad, how?

And jesus christ, Obama is NOT an extreme leftist.

He's not even that liberal at all, when you compare him to politicians in other 1st world countries (which happen to be doing much better)

Oh please, what countries? The world is in this together. At least we weren't forced to fire 500,000 government employees like the UK.

I'm pretty excited to be 18 before 2012. I'm going to go ahead and say I'm voting for Obama. I think this country needs to head towards the center as opposed to the right or the left, and the GoP is becoming way too far right for me to have confidence.Mousetaches
*cough cough* Way too far right? They are finally going back to their principals.

Obama will be a one term president if the people don't view him better than they do right now. The 2010 elections were a referendrum on his failed policies that have bankrupted the country.

I voted for him in 08'. I won't vote for him again, I'm not voting because I actually hate the condition of this country more than I did under Bush and that's amazing that I could say that. That just tells me how bad he really is, even a New York liberal like me can't stand him anymore.

sSubZerOo

His "failed policies that have bankrupted the country"? Like what? The stimulus that almost every economist has said has succeeded? The healthcare bill that the CBO estimates will reduce the deficit by billions of dollars in ten years?

Don't forget the GM bail out which not only saved the company but has shown they are paying back the debt and have posted a huge profit growth in the last quarter..

I dunno, the UN is grabbing power like crazy. I hope it never happens though...
