One thing I like about reading reviews from other gamers is the fact that they are in teh sam boat as me. They play the game and they give you their honest opininion without having to follow a specialized format like the major sites or magazines do. Plus i have noticed that if you read enough of a particualr site or magazine you tend to find the biases that these companies have. With a general gamer you don't know their biases so it can be more informative. Hopefully that made sense. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who don't know how to write a review or sound intelligent in that matter. And you feel like you just killed hundreds of brain cells after reading their so called "review." However, Joeker501 you are not one of those people and I enjoyed your review. So...thanks.
At the moment I would recommend Mass Effect. However, Im biased since i have been following it for a lot longer. I will have to read up a lot more on Two Worlds before I can make a solid judgement call.
Gears movie just had its rights purchased. Halo is on hold indefinately because some of the backers pulled out due to a disagreement on how the sales would be dvided up among the backers. The project is headed up by Peter Jackson and he is still unboard. If the company is smart they will basically copy the games. Allowing them to come out with multiple sequels. And in all honesty, and my personal opininion, they should start with Halo Wars. I know it is not out yet but seriously the game is a prequel to the other three games and i hate when movies do that. Just my two cents.
It's not like most of us aren't used to paying $60 right now. Pretty much every game worth buying is going to cost that much. What I find interesting is that when I went to put down money on my pre-order for Halo 3 the three versions they offered were, $59.99, $69.99, $99.99. There was no $129.99 price tag that some people were mentioning.
If Halo 3 turns out to be as good as all the hype then it will get around a 9.3 to 9.7. However, how many games truly turn out to be as good as all their hype? I do think that gamespot tends to grade some games a smidge too high. Oblilvion, in my opionion, should be a 8.5 to 8.9. Gears, was beautifuly made but all in all too short and I still believe it deserved around a 9.0. Just my two cents.
