[QUOTE="sonicare"]Please expalin why crysis is so innovative.cobrax25

Its like Farcry...it may not be inovative....but open ended, non-linnear gameplay is not common in FPS's.

But it is linear, though.

No matter how to play the game, the story unfolds in the same way.

....... btw, what the hell is Crysis about, anyway? Freaking aliens again?

How many freaking alien games are we going to get?

the story is dynamic....it unfolds differently depending on what happens in the game.

I was reffering to the gameplay...like Farcry...crysis takes place all in one massive level that allows you to go anywhere whenever you want too, and approach situations differently from many different sides.

That's great, but how exactly does killing people in different ways affect the story's outcome?

...... multiple endings doesn't seem like something that'd work in an FPS, especially one like Crysis where it's mainly twitch shooting.

It works very well in FPS's....again the gameplay is open ended...you can choose what objectives to complete.

and crysis isnt at all a twich shooter.....I dont even know how you got to that conclusion....like Farcry it puts a large emphasis on stealth and scouting...versus running in guns blazing.

First person shooters have made probably the fewest advancements lately out of almost any other genre I've seen.

Most shooters tend to encorporate one or two new features, which somehow brands that shooter innovative and a must have.

Quite honestly, most of the "new" things I see shooters do, I've seen other genre's do them prior...... and better, for that matter.

Open ended gameplay, done before Farcry. Changing the outcome of the story, definitely done before Crysis. Slowing down time, done before FEAR.

...... what's the big deal?....... now we get to do all those things and shoot people at the same time?

Like what? I don't have a PS3, but after seeing MGS4, I may be forced to get one when that one comes out. It should be the best game ever in its genre... but to say best ever? I don't know...

wtf is its genre...

I would say stealth action... I think...

I don't even see it as stealth anymore, really. Hiding under steel barrels doesn't seem that stealthy to me.

I think that is awsome! Very tidy and pretty secure.

I'd love to see a pic of the sealed Wii.

flazzle

I meant to take pictures while I was there, though I doubt I would have been allowed to take pictures of certain things.

Specifically that Wii.

Greatest game ever made?!?!?!

Dude you have gotta be joking. Out of all the thousands of games you think this one even has the slightest chance of being the best? Thats funny.

To me the best game has to be one that stands the test of time.

Tetris thats a best game.

Mario Bros thats a best game.

Street Fighter 2 thats a best game.

In ten years bring up MGS4 people will be like "uh that old peice of crap?" lol

(You must have been born in the 90s to be talkin like this, if so its not your fault you just do not know any better.)

daqua_99

So many games have fallen by the wayside, or are a 'fad' for a generation ...... great games come from a series which are over 4 generations long, like Super Mario, Tetris, Pong, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda and Metroid Prime ... these games are great and are some of the best ever ... I'm not saying others cant be great but to be the best ever you need to be able to look back in 10 years time and say it, not before it will be released ...

I like that list because all of those lasted because they were fun to play - say for Final Fantasy.

The only reason MGS lasted as long as it has is because people want to know what happens to Snake in the next enstallment. Sure, they're pretty fun games, but their gameplay has been matched and even bettered by other titles.

Really, when it comes down to it, people just want to find out what happens in the crappy story.

...... nobody plays Mario because they want to know what happens to the princess next.

They're scared a professional company would screw them over?

Ontain

Really.

I mean, I know it's Nintendo, but that's just it. I think Nintendo would be one of the last companies anyone would want to ripoff.

They're pretty respectful of game companies, though. They usually shred the CDs that pre-builds of games come on.

George said it was mainly to avoid legal issues in case something did happen.

  1. Rumble
  2. Analog sticks
  3. Motion control
  4. Genesis came out with a six-button controller later on in its life

People have been ripping off Nintendo all the time. You thought Nintendo was secretive. Go look at Team NINJA. Those guys are pretty much like Ninja's including their dev studio.

Sure, Nintendo constantly has their hardware and peripherals copied, but this is software.

you'd be surprised.

I was surprised. That's the thing.

I don't know many Wii games that people would be dying to get their hands on early....... at least to the point where someone would rip the game off..

....... Mario Galaxy?...... Smash Bros.?...

I mean, if MS or Sony did that for, say, Halo, GTA, or MGS, I'd understand. They were three of the best selling titles of the last generation.

No... it won't.

I'm sure it'll be a very fun game to play, but it won't be the best game ever made.

People get so excited over their old favorites, when their old favorites should have died off years ago.
