I'm all for a change of gameplay because i haven't really been interested in an AC since the second one, but i don't know.... the ship fighting looks too arcadey (that ship sure turns on a dime....certainly better than any MODERN ship this size does) for my taste. If you spend your time taking out ships left and right like there's just an endless supply of them, ill soon get bored. I understand AC is an action game, but if you're gonna have elements such as ship fighting...well i find that going full arcade just doesn't appeal to me cause this is stretching my suspension of disebelief further than the concept of an hyper acrobatic badass assassin. I think ship fighting should happen infrequently and be a challenging and rewarding experience when it happens. as it is, it looks to me like a shooter on the sea...... I COULD be wrong. I wish i'd been available when Ubisoft Montreal called me to playtest this...

Yeah, at the time when the first post Doom FPS came out, they WERE being called rip-offs. Or what about all the post Tetris puzzle games with pieces dropping from the top? Today, nobody sees them as rip-offs. History will fix the situation with the "minecraft clones" once it becomes accepted as a genre.

Let me first state that i am not only a guy but heterosexual as well.

And I swear i never want to see another woman presenting anything of geek interest ever again because men ruined it for them. I didn't think GS would ever sink this low but there it is. Are most comments here talking about the news? (as they would be if a man had presented it) Of course not. Theyr'e talking about how allegedly "cute" this girl is or how they watched this video only to look at her and i knew they would before i even scrolled down.

I don't know her qualifications, it's possible that she actually enjoys and has always played video games and is very qualified, but this is irrelevant, because she is CLEARLY presenting these news based on her look and appeal to the average geek gamer. And the crowd of drooling geek idiots are falling for it and want more.

Let's be clear here, this is no different than putting a voluptuous tight leather clad blonde girl on a Harley. No, she is not dressed in revealing clothes striking suggestive poses. Because she is catering to the geek crowd. Where the blonde on a Harley only has to look sexually suggestive and available, all the "geek" presenter has to do is smile and look "cute" and talk about video games. In my view though, it is as sexist and disgusting.

While it's clearly obvious "Jess" knows her role here and is willfully playing it, which is objectionable, this isn't women's fault that things are this way. Men don't give a s about a woman's qualifications, all they care about is if she's nice to look at. Qualified or not, a woman in ANY line of work WILL be used depending on her sex appeal (or lack thereof) and it's only because of men's attitude and constant need to only relate to women in a sexual way that it has become impossible for a woman to be respected for her qualifications and opinions. So what is there to do? Well i don't know but personally, i give up. I don't want to ever see another woman telling me about video games ever again. Not because I don't want them there, but because men have proven they can't be there unless they are somehow deemed attractive. Women have lost here, it doesn't matter what they have to say.

Oh yeah and....F you gamespot. Seriously, F you.

@gokulgamer Good point. But probably theyll endanger the citizens which is why he'll have to come out. Personally, id have just called Superman to take care of gotham for the night. It's not like he'd have to lift a finger to beat any of those guys.

Weird coincidnce. Just today on a forum i posted a thread about IP we've been wanting to see made into games for years and detail how we'd like the games to play. FOr more than a decade i've been hoping for a Mad Max open world game. This has promise. However in y idea it wouln't be TOO heavy on action, i was thinking huge world, have to scavenge for resources like fuel for your car and food. Sometimes you'd be force to go on foor. Infrequent encounters with enemies but when they happen they'd be dangerous and you don't have loads of ammo to deal with them, maybe 3 or 4 shells in your shotgun. Then its hand to hand or ram them out of the road. I love Avalanche, Just cause 2 is one of my fav game ever, but i have a feeling this will be heavier on action than i'd like. Still, pretty excited to see how that'll turn out.

Glad to see its coming back, nice surprise. Not so sure many people still care about that kind of game though.

Non linear open world? Finally a Witcher game i might actually want to play.

100 hours of game time with side quests? 20% bigger than skyrim? Niiice. Sounds like the Witcher series might have finally come into it's own. Dont like linear story driven games so much.

@Yishaijah

Well, i agree that Carolyn is a great reviewer and a lot of the things "she" says about the industry in general in "her" blog is pretty spot on. But now that i heard the voice, i have to agree with you. I guess its one of those born with the wrong sex people. But there is no way this isn't ACTUALLY a guy. Whatever gender they are is of course irrelevant to their work. But yeah. I had someone like that in my league in DCUO. fun person, but we just humored "her" and referred to "her" as a girl ( i mean we had "her" on voice chat). Nobody was fooled. Get the sex change done. Then it feels less like we're just fellow players in someone's game of make believe. It's like if i was going around asking everyone to think of me as and refer to me as an african american person when i'm actually white. This just feels weird. (Though in this case there wouldnt be any way for me to actually become black.)
