Half-life 1 shook the industry and changed how FPS would be played. Its influence is just tremendous. HL2 is great but it doesn't have the vast and far-reaching influence of the first. HL1 is just way too legendary, It's a huge gaming milestone.

But yea, it douldn't help that one of our best developers are staring off into space, and only cares about steam... and blizz delayed the titan to god knows when.

Pc gamers are going to have to suffer a dark age I'm afraid, from here on our it seems like we're going to be tossed generic f2p titles and the occasional port, oh and then an endless sea of indie games that are banking on nostalgia.

Pc gaming went from being represented by the Uber graphics of Crysis 1, to the pixel graphics indie nostalgia games.

Oh god how we have fallen.

I've been pc gaming since half-life 1, and exclusively since around the time the gamecube launch.

But its true, valve is twiddling their fingers up their butts, blizzard is elsewhere starting projects and then reworking them, bioware has long since turned to consolizing their games, and crytek is right there with them.

And what do we have to look forward to now? Generic F2P themeparks? woo, i've been there a hundred times, I heard rift just went f2p, I bet you're really looking forward to queing up for dungeons and spamming your macros for the billionth time? and it seems like every god damn week there is another indie game steam selling nostalgia to us. Our only saving grace is the modding capabilities and improved graphics that come with our games, but passed all of that, we've fallen quite so.

Pc's will have its nice exclusives and multi-plat versions, which I will play, as will the consoles, which I will also play. 

Seriously whats with the false choice dilema going around.

This past E3 really demonstrates how immature many pc gamers have become. Whats not to love about a great game coming to the PC? It's a total win-win.
