It works fantastic, same as Windows 7. There is only one game I that will not run on Windows 8, an online MMO third person shooter called GunZ: The Duel, but most typical games will run perfectly.

Does anyone know where you can get a 90s style beige ATX case (preferably with good airflow) My monitor and keyboard are old, but my PC is new, and it would be cool if it matched them. There is one on newegg but it is a desktop case, and I would prefer a tower.

60 hz is kinda low for a monitor these days, my 17 inch CRT monitor made around 1999-2001 runs at 85 hz. 60 hz is fine, but I noticed more responsiveness when I switched out my LCD for this older monitor.

Usually, most PS2/Xbox/GC and older gen games look better on a 4:3 CRT TV. My Genesis looked horrible on our widescreen plasma tv. I am not sure about LCDs with a 4:3 aspect ratio. CRTs are analog and have zero motion blur or ghosting.

Most games made for Windows 95, and not MS-DOS, will still run on newer PCs. Unreal Tournament, Quake 2 and 3, and Deus Ex were made for Windows 95 but they run on newer Windows versions. If you want to emulate Windows 95 you can use a virtual machine like Microsoft Virtual PC or Virtualbox, which you can install Windows onto. You can find saved OS images with it preinstalled, but I do not know if they are legal, so just use a Windows 95 disk and make an image of it, which is legal.

Anything the Xbox had over the PS2 was better on the PC anyway. Halo 1, 2, Half-Life 2, most of them were more fun on the PC. The PS2 had more actual exclusives like Gran Turismo 3/4, Ratchet and Clank, the Katamari games, Ico, and many others. It's one of the few consoles that are worth owning for a serious PC gamer like me.

Why are the troll police always working overtime here? Why can't anyone just take a post at face value? If this is trolling by GameSpot standards, it is pretty pathetic.

The PS controller was perfect. Once the DualShock came out, Sony didn't need to fumble with the controller any more. I liked the Gamecube controller, and didn't mind the original massive XBox controller or the smaller one, but the PS controller hardly changed because it was virtually perfect. Even though the PS3 controller felt small as I became a teenager with larger hands, it still fit just right. I have never heard a complaint about the PS controller, even my XBox playing friends like it. I am curious as to why the PS4 controller needs a stupid touchpad right in the middle. Using touch for most games sucks. Even Angry Birds plays better with something else.

I prefer the Genesis mostly because I had one for longer than I had the SNES, but I liked the Sonic the Hedgehog games, Gunstar Heroes, Kid Chameleon, and some others. If you like sports games, the Genesis wins by a long shot. Sure, the colors and music were not as good on the Genesis, but the Genesis had a much faster processor which allowed it to deliver high speed games such as Sonic. I voted "lol, consoles" because I am a PC gamer and, let's face it, the Genesis and SNES couldn't keep up with the PC back then. The first person shooter was emerging, and the SNES and even the 32X versions of Doom were garbage. The 16-bit era didn't last long enough anyway, the PlayStation destroyed them.

I had a Pentium II for a couple days but I attempted to change processors and I messed up something (at least it was free). It was pretty good, it ran UT99 with impressive results on Windows 2000. I like UT99 for testing and playing them because most old PCs can play it even with integrated graphics (but best with a 3dfx or a newer card) and it has solid, fun multiplayer that is easy to set up. Quake 3 is also fun but a little more high maintenance since it needs a decent card with good OpenGL support to run at all. Actually, my pet peeve about most older PCs is that they lack integrated video, sound, or Ethernet, which makes things harder to deal with. I know integrated video sucks but it is very good to have when setting up a PC which you can't find a card for or has bad PCI slots.
