My collection has ballooned up considerably in the last few months since I've been migrating back to the PC for most of my gaming. My steam collection is 217, and I have quite a few others I've picked up from Amazon, gog, Origin, and impulse. There's a lot of really great games coming up that I expect to hog what little time I do have, so I'm hoping to develop some more restraint when it comes to Steam sales. No matter how cheap the game is, a lot of them haven't been worth my time.

Yep, everyone I know who has been really looking forward to this already has the first game. I'm not sure if they'll pre-purchase the game like me, but I'm drawing a blank on who to gift the first game to.

Can't wait to play this game. I've been looking forward to playing this almost as much as Diablo III.

I've already bought it via the annual pass.

Cutscenes are generally what make me dislike a game the most. Many of them are terrible as pieces of filmmaking. Kotaku recently had an article discussing this. Beyond that, the more abundant they are, the more they remove the player from actually interacting with the game. There are some exceptions, though, where the writing is actually great, like the Uncharted series. That's about the only game series I can think of where I look forward to the next cutscene.

A lot of shooters anymore also have terrible placing. A constant state of anything, including intense gun fights, becomes boring. It's why 4 hour games can still feel like they could use some trimming. A game like Half-Life had great pacing by breaking up the firefights with puzzles, etc. It keeps the actual action exciting when you get to it, and there's plenty of other fun to be had in the campaign.

I picked it up last night expecting I would regret it. Instead, I had a blast and played it for a few hours straight.

Graphically, it's a mess. Which era the assets and effects come from is very apparent. The humor is hit or miss, too.

That said, I'm having a blast playing the game. It's a complete throwback to shooters from the late 90s-2000, which was my favorite era for the genre. There are some elements from that era that I don't miss, and I expect some of the puzzles to end up being tedious, or just not feel right. First person platforming was never that fun. But the rest of the gameplay has been fun. This is more or less what I was hoping Bulletstorm would attempt to be. That game had the right personality, but borrowed too much from cover shooters. Oh, and should have never bothered with story.

I have seen a lot of complaints about the downtime, but I have loved most of it so far. A lot of shooters these days are so busy funneling you down a path that it's fun to play something that encourages stopping and smelling the roses. It gives the game a more sandboxy feel. I'll take that over cinematic gameplay anyday. I'd like to see more games "regress" to this era.

Guerrilla Games, I told you what you needed to do in order to have a AAA game. You were supposed to have made Rico die at the hands of the player in a gloriously violent, satisfying fashion. That's all that needed to be done. Hell, the game could have opened with Rico up against a wall and ended with you riddling him with bullets and it would have been a 9.0. At least.

This would have made it a must buy imo.

I've had Assassins Creed 2 for over a year and never touched it until now.TruDawg32

Heh. I just started Assassin's Creed 2 the other day, myself. Actually the same evening I got home with Brotherhood.

I don't hate that I have unfinished games but also don't really care for it. My game time is ever increasingly limited, but I've still tried to keep up on the titles that interest me. I also have a habit of stopping good games to "savor" them while I finish lesser games. The usual result is it takes forever for me to get back to the game I was enjoying. (Now I'm just trying to weed out anything less than great. I don't have time for subpar experiences anymore).

I played MOH multiplayer about 20 minutes after I first got the game. It might have just been the map I was on, but I just remember it being a lot of brown on brown on brown. :p I plan on giving it another go at some point.

My slim didn't come with a transfer cable, and neither did the new 250 GB hard drive. Though, I'm not sure if you can get a transfer kit/hard drive bundle or not. I've read some posts from folks who said the transfer kit came with their new hard drives. The transfer kits go for $20 at most places. You can choose what data to transfer, which should make it easier to transfer exactly what you want, if your space is limited.
