The more often we get hit with explosives and environmental obstacles, the more we laugh.OrwellJames

Wow. I wish I could feel this way. I really do. As a long-time lover of kart racing since first playing Super Mario Kart I can say without a doubt that I've never felt that way about weapons in kart racers. I think it comes down to the fact that I hate being interrupted when I'm trying to do something. That's one thing I hate about fighting games, and strategy games. But I digress... To Mario Kart's credit though, at least weapons don't completely knock you out of the race for a good 4-5 secs (closer to 10 if they time the shot to knock you off the track) and eliminate whatever weapon stockpile you've been working on for a whole lap.

I love ModNation Racers, I really do, which is why I'm not going to pull punches. The weapons are too over the top, both visually and practically. The shield mechanic needs work. 50% of the time (not exagerating) my shield is up, the missiles arrive, and I'm still hit. And don't even get me started on the practically unavoidable Level 3 Sonic weapon.

And honestly, I wouldn't complain about the racing system so much except I hate that they borrowed Little Big Planet's "creation tool gathering" methodology. I just want to make a cool F1 kart. Oh? What's that? I have to perfect over half the career mode (I say that since I'm in the 3rd tour and still don't have it) to even get that body style? Why? If they're gonna force you to grind through the story mode to get all the creation tools they could have at least given us different difficulty settings.

*breath in*
Sorry. Rant over.

This post is fairly old, but I thought I'd second this instead of making a new one.

Whenever I try to tag a video I get the same message: "Invalid Video ID"

[QUOTE="Kuruption84"]I know everyone hates Xplay and Sessler but this was informative. Not gonna waste my time with game installs http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/features/35033/XPlay_Investigates_The_New_Xbox_Experience.html

I actually like XPlay but I was disappointed to see absolutely NO MENTION of the fact that when games are run off the hard drive your 360 doesn't sound like a 747 during gameplay. This was especially noticeable with Fable II. And that's not even mentioning that my copy of Fable II liked to randomly freeze up my system and stop reading the disc. That problem is completely gone as well. Running games off the hard drive will also do quite a bit for a system's longevity since you will be putting much less wear and tear on the disc drive. I will be installing many many games when I get a larger hard drive later this year, but that's just me.

Bioshock all the way. And to think, when the game was hyped into the stratosphere I rolled my eyes at it and ignored it for a year. :p

"Better than..." "More than..." Geez people. You know, I love CoD4. It's a great game. My brother bought CoD:WaW and I played it quite a bit today. I'll be picking it up (at the latest) by Christmas. And you know what. I like them both. They're both fun games. The only difference is that when I feel like playing a modern shooter I'll pop in CoD4 and when I'm feeling like some WWII action I'll play WaW. Gamers are too obsessed with silly ideas like brand loyalty and fanboyism. Can't we get past the "Anyone who likes WaW more than CoD4 doesn't have any taste in games" BS?

I bought ffxii two days ago and I have to say I'm starting to agree with the majority who said it is not that good, I have been trying to upgrade my characters levels for hours and I couldn't understand the licence board even reading the instructions over and over.

The battle system was interesting at first but when you progress in the game it is hard to get used to.

For me FFX>>>>>FFXII.

I hope FFXIII becomes better than this one.

SolidSnake2020

Honestly I couldn't stand Final Fantasy X. It was the only Final Fantasy I ever sold back to the store. I still own all my old FF games, but that one couldn't cut it. I beat it and tossed it. The license board in FFXII is not that bad. I'll be honest, I don't like it that much, but I hated the Sphere Grid more. Square-Enix keeps trying to shove these minigames into Final Fantasy as new ways to develop characters, but I'm just not enjoying that aspect of recent FFs too much.

I find that the battle system started to make more sense as I progressed, not less. The access to different gambits helps out a lot later on.

IMO Final Fantasy XII is one of the best games in the series, and easily one of the best since VI. Then again, I read all sorts of previews and knew what I was getting into before my purchase.

San Andreas.

I love the much larger and more open area, more flying vehicles, the driving schools. I didn't like GTA3 at all, and Vice City just didn't appeal to me. I really didn't like Vice City's setting... meh 80s Miami.

Also San Andreas had a much more customizable character. It was almost like I was playing an RPG, like a modern-day Morrowind. There there felt like there was a lot more to do in San Andreas than in the other two.

they should sell the crpy stuff for half pricemoondoggey

I disagree. One of the great things about the VC is the pretty consistent pricing. No matter what the SNES game is it's $8. I would even go so far as to say that Square-Enix hasn't released their old five-star games yet because they may want to charge more. So, no, Wii VC pricing should stay at a consistent level regardless of the 'quality' of the content. Same price for games on the same console, all around. Plus remember, quality is in the eye of the beholder

One thing some of you need to learn is that from a business perspective it would be stupid for Nintendo to bring out all the good games at one time. Think about all the games that were made forNintendo, SNES, and N64. If they put all the good ones out every week then what are you going to look forward to next year and in following years? I would also love to have great games come out every week, but being a marketing rep myself I understand its not a smart business decision. mgfarmer

I really think you're underestimating the size of the library of games available for the VC. Nintendo's first-party library for the NES, SNES, and N64 is gigantic. Add several third-parties and it's unbelievable. Add two other consoles and it grows even larger. It really wouldn't be too much for Nintendo to release a four or five star title per week. That would still give them hundreds and hundreds of weeks of new VC content.

Crystalis

Yeah, that's pretty much the only title I'm really hoping for at this point. With Crystalis on the VC I could die a happy 20-something nerd.
