My god, how didn't THAT spring immediately to mind!?! I MUST be getting old.

One of the earliest top-down shooters, still ranks among the best! Sophisticated AI on an NES game. Solid graphics and speed. Someone needs to contact Compile ( if they still exist ) and get THAT game revived!

Chrono Trigger was never released in the U.K as far as I'm aware.

Also, Illusion of Time from the SNES, that game was ACE and as far as I can remember, highly under appreciated back in the mid 90's.

Flashback, One of the best and most cinematic games to appear on the Genesis/Megadrive.  A spiritual precursor to the platform/adventure games we take for granted today, where story, action, puzzles and adventure all enhance the gaming experience, Tomb Raider, Resi and the like.

Games like Guardian Heroes, Gunstar Heroes, Parodius, Shadowrun, Probotector(Contra Spirits: Alien Rebels), Spider-man vs. Kingpin, Smash T.V, Toki, Dragon Force, Sillhouette Mirage, Gun Griffon, Sega Rally and more but I can't think of more at the moment :P

Oh... P.S.  somewhere on that future list there better be room for the Streets of Rage games!:D

I'd say Wizards and Warriors from the NES. That game had such a cool vibe. I believe it was made by Rare though, so I guess if it did show up it would be on XboxLive.

I can't believe someone said "Faxanadu". Of course, if it actually did come out, I would probably grab it and play it straight through, but still! I think the last time I even looked at that game was when I played it on the NES. Oh, and a big YESPLS to Shining Force 3. Actually, I wouldn't mind all the (original) Shining Force games popping up at some point. I completely wore out my Genesis carts of those. Ah yes! Who could forget the pre-Tony Hawk, trick-based gameplay of UniRacers...! Don't quite know how I feel about that one, but it was most certainly unique for its time!

Ditto on Lone Ranger.  It was a little derivative of Commando and other games of its ilk, but very good at what it did.  The TMNT games, especially the old-schoold first one.

Herzog Zwei was waaay ahead of it's time. If I remember correctly, I think EGM gave it a horrible review too... 3's or 4's I think...

BUT... It was a console Real-Time-Strategy game that pre-dated PC games like Command and Conquer by several, several years!

That game should have started a phenomenon back then (seeing how popular RTS became after it's existence), but it was largely ignored! That was truely a gamer's game and a great injustice in the history of videogames in general!

It MUST be made playable again!

It was a great concept. (Spore's great, great granddaddy?) The gameplay, however, was OK...

I would love to see Enix make a new version, but a VC release...? Hmmm...???

I always wanted, but never got around to, playing Uniracers.  I'd pick that game up pronto if it was released on VC.

Another game I'd really dig is Boulder Dash.  Get it?  DIG!  *chuckles*  Great game, I've been meaning to buy it over Ebay for ages, but again, I just can't seem to get it done.

I played River Raid on my Atari 2600 to death, ah, the simple days. Needs a DS remake.

I rented Rocketknight Adventures so many times the guy at the video store eventually let me keep it when he got brought out buy someone else. GOD that game was hard.

But most of all (though probably not a sleeper) i'd like to play Streets of Rage again.

I loved Rocket Knight; also played Sparkster... One was the Genesis version, the other the SNES, although I don't remember which was which.

I just remember it has awesome graphics and innovative gameplay... I'm wondering if Treasure guys had anything to do with either of them...? Hmmm...

Final Fight's kinda been overdone lately. CapCom collection 1 had IT, and CC2 had almost too many variations of FF... King of Dragons, Knights of the Round, Captain Commando, etc...

We haven't seen the Streets of Rage games lately. Truthfully, I want to play them again for the soundtracks almost alone... I can't remember his name exactly... Yuzo Kushiro... or something... I loved his music!

Finally, Eternal Champions... I'm sure it hasn't aged well at all. It would have been nice to see on the Genesis Collection, but we got cheated due to the Ratings Restrictions on the game. HOPEFULLY, they'll put games on the VC regardless of rating. Afterall, you need a credit card to buy them (for the most part); they're not exactly accessible to minors.

Thankfully, they put the arcade version and not the Genesis version...
