Thanks for the reply!

The discs don't seem scratched at all, but it's been a year since I've played the games, though my cousin admits that his PS3 was broken once because it had problems reading games, so it could be his disc drive still not responsive.

I'll just contact a friend and see what if he can run the games. Thanks for the help!

Hey guys, I gave my PS3 games to my cousin who has either a US or Japanese PS3 (I suspect Japanese... when I select "Health Warnings" in the options of the games, it's just Japanese text which pop out). My games are from Europe from my exchange student stay there.

I already updated the PS3 to v4.00 (via internet) and it still hangs. Uncharted 2 hangs at the dagger spinning, and in Heavy Rain it's just black. When I connect the PS3 to the internet, it says they found a patch, but when I click OK, it just goes back to the menu screen.

I actually thought of selling the games to my friends, so is it the problem of the PS3 or my games? Oh, all the other games he bought from around works. Just the European games.

PS: His PS3 model is the 40GB one.

Advertisements are REALLY important for games, much so for a game such as Heavy Rain - which is more niche than the games currently coming out on the same time frame (*coughFinalFantasyXIIIcough*). It has to stand out and tell the masses why they have to invest on this game. I, for one who wants to see more games of the same genre produced, support advertisements such as these. I think a good advertisement scheme will benefit not only this game, but the genre as a whole as well.

Right now there is a Red Carpet Premiere of this game in Paris... I am currently on an exchange student program in France... Oh why am I hosted in this town and not Paris? :( I did go shopping a while ago and I saw some ads for this game in Micromania... Really really made me excited.

[QUOTE="kozzy1234"]

I really dont understand the hate that this game is getting.

The demo was awesome...

It looks great, it has good characters, nice atmosphere and its fun. Whats wrong with a story oriented game with great presentation?

Panosola

We don't hate the "game"...we just don't agree that HR is a game.HR is just nine-hour film and PSM3 Magazine and many other reviews agree with that.

Well this "game" actually belongs to the genre "games" that were once popular, and even revered by the gaming community, back before we had Halos and Call of Duties. Back then no one had any qualms with calling them "video games".

That's why I don't get it when gamers (*coughfanboys?cough*) accuse this of being any less than a game, when indeed it is a game (only made more interactive), and quickly dismiss the game.

I am pleased with the game earning high marks, I hope this will revive interest in Adventure Games and developers will proceed to making next-generation Adventure Games. I think GS will give this game an AA, but is actually praying for it to be an AAA. I'm hyping it up as AA though.

nervmeister: Really? Confirmed? I was just thinking about how Famitsu will score this game... Great, the Japanese likes this game as well and I hope it sells well there!

I hate playing the role of the fanboy but... Anyone still in denial that this game is going to rock I'll literally have to translate each review for you so that you'll read how this game is more awesome than you think it is.

Hyping AA, though I seriously wish it scores an AAA. I love the fact that Sony has the balls to fund and publish a next-generation game of an Adventure Game, thsse games have been niche!

Why are people so stupid?

I imagine this scene, while doubling as a tutorial, is also used to set the tone for the early part of the game, giving you a sense of what type of life this guy is living. When **** gets real the idea is that you'll be more involved with the character because you have a greater understanding of where he's coming from so you can sympathize with him more easily.

Personally I found the scenes similar to this in Fahrenheit oddly engrossing. It wasn't just action scenes all the time (except for at the end), you got these interludes where the characters are just doing whatever it is they do inbetween the more eventful scenes. It's a quirky change of pace. Like in Fahrenheit I imagine these scenes will be used for pacing and setting up dramatic shifts. In Fahrenheit, as you stroll around in your apartment the morning after having stabbed a dude to death, suddenly you hear the police knocking on your door and you have to shuffle to try to get rid of evidence before the cop enters to investigate, hoping you didn't forget anything.

If you didn't have these lulls, things like that wouldn't be as effective. You're like ♫lalalalilildadaduda...OH **** ****ING POOPYPANTS!!!

InsaneBasura

A kababayan is defending this game! Yay!

I don't really post much in System Wars, but I just want to Quote this for Truth. No, I haven't seen the entire footage (want to go to the game clean), but saw the first minute. I don't really get the stupid complains of users over here in Gamespot where they tell "This gen is ****, it's overrun by FPSes and Hack and Slash Games and any Wii + mundane thing!", yet when a game truly does try to make a difference, it gets slammed on the face and is compared to Lair, Haze, and perhaps any other uninspired game (Sims 3 really isn't a bad game, it's one of the best games I played in 2009, so I count that as a compliment to Heavy Rain).
