The campaign was this close to perfect for me. It was just one mission - that one said, misguided mission. It was like Bungie was on a clear break-away, ready to go for the dunk, but then tripped over their shoelaces and had to settle for a lay-up instead.
When I play, I usually play with at least a group of 3 or 4, so we don't have to chat with those outside our group too often. If I do play by myself, I usually just turn the volume down, and put on some music. Most people are either jerks who play way too seriously or, as you noted, racist eleven-year olds or their cousins, eleven-year olds whose grasp of black culture stems from rap music videos and hyphy music.
