Starcraft II - can't be far away...

They said they started its development right after the release of Warcraft III: Frozen Throne. Meaning they have been working on SC2 for a little over 4 years. I know they say, "oh we're in pre-alpha" blah blah blah, but wasn't it like 3 months ago when Halo 3 was in pre-alpha, and now it's coming out next month?

Plus Blizzard said they are already are calling in the pros to work on the balancing issues. I understand they have a lot of tweaking to do, and I can't wait to see what they did with Zerg. However, March 2008 sound believable to you guys?

At the latest I would say mid summer 2008. What are your predictions for when Starcraft II takes over the gaming world?

Incredible polish and incredible gameplay. But you know Blizzard, man, they'll delay for the sake of delaying.

however long it takes them. the end of this year alone is gonna last quite some time. so i'll be busy while i wait

im going to say fall 2008, a game of this magnitude needs to be polished till your blinded just looking at it. especially in a strategy game where if one thing is unbalanced the game becomes very uneven and replayability drops by months.Big_player

I want to play it when its done. I want to play it when it has been perfected. I want it to consume my soul.

Blizzard has been known for incredible polish and refinement. Where you see a polished game, Blizzard sees a game that still needs months of work.

Starcraft 2 will be done when it's done. In the meantime, just enjoy Starcraft 1, which manages to transcend age and still plays wonderfully.
