I'm pretty torn on this game. I really really want to like it. I love the art style, I love the setting, I love the music and the feeling you get from the game. I just can't seem to get into the actual game its self. Who knows, maybe after a few updates or DLC it might open up more.
@alabtrosmyster @Tommi88 @dannydopamine28 Please don't feed the troll. I own it for PS4, and it runs just fine. 10FPS is such a troll number that if a game ever released with that, there would be news articles over flowing into the street's of the net.
This is the first time I really have heard of people thinking the death penalty was too little. Maybe, in a way, it really was. Who is to argue right? I didn't really feel that way but then again I didn't find my self dying too many times. I have to do my hard run through next, so maybe I will understand at that point.
That does make sense, Tom. Though, I find, a lot of games make me not fear death and none of those games get picked apart so bad for allowing it. Is it because the rest of Last of Us is so gripping that it made you feel this way?
I, like Emerica, would just like to hear what you would do, or what you would add to make death make a better impact? Again, I don't want to seem like I'm attacking your professional opinion, but I always believed that if you don't like something, you should have an idea on how to fix it, you know?
Tom, I respect your role as a reviewer, but basically what you just described, would never work for Last of Us.
Xcom and Fire Emblem are strategy games, so losing some nameless grunt would not really do much to stop your progression in the game. It is perfectly ok to lose soldier number 44, because he or she would have zero impact on the story.
I Am Alive makes you replay 30 minutes or more because it is largely a puzzle game. Even confrontations are puzzles. Dark Souls just takes away money, in a way, which is extremely easy to get back if you know how to play the game.
Who is going to die in Last of Us? out of a game with two characters, that both need to be alive to even complete the game? Again, I understand what you mean, but I, and a large amount of others, see nothing wrong with Last of Us.
The title is kind of miss leading, in a way. The Xbox One is in first, but PS4 is still pre ordering more in the grand scheme of things. Not sure if mistake on posters part, or did it to get everyone in a fuss.
@Printul_Noptii @Atheno Exactly my point, so while you are right that people just want jet packs for Halo, or Just Cause 2, I am pretty sure they also want geomod for Just Cause 3, and mud for Thief. Something to change it up. Like Half Life 2, (one of my favourite games). My argument is, it has worked before, do NOT stop doing it for future games. Add Mud or Snow to thief, and change the game once it starts raining half way through sneaking into a court yard. Take the gaming world by storm, refuse to stop, evolve games, while still keeping other action games simply action.
