With this generation of teens, it seems like there are less hard-working teens these days. So many teens these days exoect that life will be handed to you on a silver platter. There will be many students who complain about getting tons of work, or ask the teacher if they could have extra time to do a research paper, even though they have had MONTHS to be able to complete it, and many teenagers don't seem to care about getting F's in classes; they'll just joke about it, and mention how they didn't need it anyways, ot just say the teacher and/or class was just stupid. Mant teens always expect adults to rerspect them before they respect them; if a teen is constantly distruptive in class, and the teacher punishes him/her with a detention, the teen will get angry and snipe at the teacher and/or just walk out of the classroom in disgust. There have been so many times where I have seen a teen text in the middle of class, and when the teacher sees it and asks for the phone, the teen will get mad at the teacher, saying he/she has no right to take their phone (even though there is clearly a rule stating no phones in class).
All in all, there are many teenagers these that just don't really put effort into their work, and expect that things will just go their way, and if they don't, it is the fault of adults, which in some cases, it could be, but these teens need to understand that they need too take responsibility. Now of course not all teens are like this, and of course this kinda of stuff has happened with past generations of teens, but it is an escalating problem; a problem that is escalating due to the whiole new policy these days of "everybody is a winner!" Nowadays, even if you fail miserable at something, you may still get rewarded with something and get complimented, and all this does is give no reason for the adolescent to improve upon him/herself, since what they did still got them something good and get positive feedback and praise from adults so the adolescent will still feel "special", so why fix something that isn't broken?
Okay, that's all with my indepth look at this teenagers these days. :P

you cant expect a teenager to respect someone who doesnt respect them, respect works both ways
and teens wouldnt be busy playing on their phones and talking if teachers gave a damn about good teaching and kept one's interest
ive been at scholl for a while now, and i tell you: some teachers have no clue what they're doing, they think they just need to talk at a student for 10 mins and then set questions, they dont compromise or listen to students and clearly dont like their job - i wonder why these people go into teaching
ive seen good teachers, quite a few, and the common factor in them is that they make a subject interesting, dont treat pupils like turds looking to make trouble and, most importantly, have a great deal of enthusiasm for the subject/s they teach
so, if you're a teacher, LEARN TO TEACH and if you're an angry teen who sympathises with teachers and feels like they're an adult in a teens body, then go make some friends
