I suppose the only place you would see issues is in defragging - it will take much longer due to the PC "juggling" everything, though the fact that it is full isnt an issue

Does anyone use it? Is it any good? Or is still a case of trial and error to get the best results, and using you own prioritisation?
Good evening ladies and gents
I was wondering if anyone can help with a small problem i am having - i seem to be suffering from random shutdowns.
Heres what i have got:
i5 750
Asus Maximus III Gene
Gigabyte 560Ti OC
16gb 1333mhz DDR3
600W Coolermaster Silent Pro
Here is what i have done:
Swapped all the ram around and tried in all the slots
Tried PSU in another PC no issue
Turned off all overclocks
Reset CPU with new paste
Noticed that i kept on losing BIOS settings when disconnecting the PC (new battery has sorted this issue)
Memory tests for 45mins + come back clean
Watched temps (never higher than 75 @ 100 load)
What happens:
The system shut downs like it has over heated - the system does a hard shut down but then restarts straight away
Nothing in event viewer - the only thing i see here is a message once the system has booted again saying that the system shut down unexpectedly before this shut down
When this happens:
Doing everything from playing games to surfing the web to being idle
It can happen anytime from once over the course of 2 days to 3 times within an hour or twice within 5 minutes
Temps are always normal and even at the highest (hot day = 80 degrees max on the cpu which is 20 less than the hard shut down)
What i have managed to do with out probelms:
Played BF3 for 2-3hours with it showing 95-100% on all the cores though out the time
Play Tomb Raider for 2.5 hours
Leave the computer on for 48hrs downloading
So i am really at a loss to what to do next - does anyone know some useful software?
Any help is much apperciated.
Also what are you doing with PhysX? As to be honest this will be more and likely phased out over the next couple of years certainly game wise in favor of better physics engines
I wouldn't recommend playing games across 2 screens, you'll have the bezel in the middle making fps games impossible.kraken2109
This
3 screens ok, but this isnt supported by all games - but all the ones you named i wouldnt play on 2 screens
Why do people comment here without reading all the thread...................................
He has a 450 cos his CPU died, and this was from his previous system - he will get a new GPU soon - really people if you are gonna comment read the whole fricking thread!

Wow dont quite understand all the QTE hate here, basically tou have 2 choices:
1) Watch a video in which (this case) the heroin does something and you have no say in the outcome
OR
2) You get to press some buttons leading to the outcome of the set piece
Yes there are quite a few in the first hour or so but they fit in with the game and arent used too much.
***SPOILER***
Lets have a look at some shall we from the start
1) Man grabs boot while first trying to get away
Normal game cuts to cut scene of Lara escaping and kicking the person - you do nothing
QTE game you press a button to kick him in the face and complete your escape
Now for me i know which i prefer
2) Practicing climbing over downed plane
You climb across with nothing happening and complete that part of the tutorial
QTE game you character slips and you need to press the button to grasp on and survive
Now again i know which one i prefer
In both cases QTE win for me, i am not too sure what people are expecting as there really isnt a 3rd option, its either a static video/nothing (you cant change the outcome) or a QTE

Like I said, all QTEs aren't all bad, when done right they can serve a good purpose. but these are not done right and are very poorly implemented. I mean 5 QTEs in a row is excessive and borderline moronic. It's poor game design
Can you tell me where this part is as i havent got to it yet and it will be interesting to see
I probably wont go intel, I have an OEM version of windows and I saw the dramatic price increase for W8 and it seemed a bit too steep. The only reason I wanted to get a new CPU is because when I'm playing borderlands 2, I have slight jittering in-game. Would that be something else then?
And I'll probably end up crossfiring my 7850 seen as it went down in price by 70 euros since I bought mine. But I'll have a look at the price for a 7950 or 7970 anyway. How much would I get for a used 7850?
Thanks for the help in advance! (:

Yeh I would think the Borderlands 2 is something else - last time i played it was on q9550, 4gb and a 560Ti without any problems on high settings at 1080. A 6100FX should be giving my aging intel cpu a run for its money if not beating it. You havent turned on PhysX by accident? This would cause a few problems like this on that setup.

I will be honest and say ask for money and get a more worth while update in the future. A proper CPU change will need a new mobo (as there is no reason really to go AMD, you would see pretty minimal if any boost (not saying AMD is bad just there isnt anything that would improve your rig that much)). A 7850 is still a very capable GPU and again not really needed to update - i use a 560Ti and still play pretty much every game in high. The only GPU worth getting would be a 7970 or 670 and then you wouldnt see that much of an improvement. An SSD would certainly make your rig feel faster, but other than that i would really say just hold on to your money for now you still have a pretty good system.
