@bearcatzz_basic: disappointing doesnt mean bad, in the explanation they clearly say they expected something better and that they tried to squeeze too much in that just left it messy. Which is fine - I pretty much felt the same, there was a crap tonne of potential they didn't quite hit.

@xbhonner: 5 hours is above in the story.......*doh* 1st fail

2nd fail most laptops can barely get past an hour hardcore gaming, and some cellphones can mange 3 at a push, so stop talking out your harris

Taken from a site that specializes in phone reviews:

"In terms of 3D gaming the iPhone 6 managed two hours and thirty five minutes of non-stop action - an hour less than the Galaxy S5 and 6 Plus."

So in case you are unable to the math thats 2.5 to 3.5 hours

Within the same site it points out most smartphones get anywhere between 4-8 hours screen on time (thats not doing anything just having the phone on).

Wow amazed with the amount of both ignorant and quite frankly stupid questions in the comment section. To help some of you out:

AR is not the same as VR comparisons with vr are both stupid and pointless

The lens is targeted for the work area and not as a gaming peripheral

2.5 - 5 hours isnt good battery life? Erm how long can your laptop or cellphone last just gaming or doing something that is heavy on the processor?

This is the equivalent of a computer hence the price tag - in other words it doesnt need something to do the processing like with vr.

This is the first version of the first version, of course tech is a little sucky, but really go find a 15" monitor and get 2 feet away from it, just as a comparison im look at a 10" tab and 2 feet away it easily covers more than 50% of my fov. So not great and it will be improved in the future, but for a first try the fov is fine.

Hope that helps, but im sure butt hurt fan boys will try to find something else to whing about.....

@deusvex: great post, only problem is currently less than 20% of the games work on steam os i beleive, and only a few aaas. So looking around and it seems borderlands 2 and bioshock is the most aaa they are atm. If we had 100% of steam then i agree with you!

@Yams1980: You do well upto your final paragraph, the fact that such a small % of gamers will be using a 970 equivalent or above its scary (the steam stats are great for this). And then to further suggest the ps4 and xbones are poorly made or underpowered is just a little silly, and since this article is also console vs steam box the rest although true is just huff and puff.....

Also people only buy consoles to watch movies and play games, so well done on stating the obvious :P

@jinzo9988: very good points though we potentially could say that the cut down os means they may not need as much ram, if thats not the case you would ask what is the point of the steam os.
