I think I just found the cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/Convert-8-Pin-PCI-E-2-6-Pin-PCI-E-Adapter-cable-6-MADE-USA-/150893540010?pt=US_Power_Cables_Connectors&hash=item2321f4b2aa Is this legit ? (what are the chances that I blow my computer up by doing this ?)

[QUOTE="Marfoo"] It's better to use one of the cables you just found rather than Molex. Usually the PSU manufacturer gives the PCIe power its own rails (unless it's a single rail PSU) but generally that's the safer way to provide power. You will not blow up your computer, you are making the smart choice, just be sure you can provide enough amps on those lines to power the two cards you plan to power.

My powersupply has 1x12V+ rail with 53amps according to my label (does that change anything since you said most PSU use multiple rails ?). As for the cards I just want to see if I even have the option for dual gtx700/ati 8000 (The gtx670/7950 in dual mode takes 46amps according to the website so im trying to see if sli/crossfire is even possible with the adapter in the future).

I don't want to use molex because it doesn't seem like its worth the risk (especially since I already have 2x8pin connectors so I'ld rather draw the power off the 8pins since it has enough). I don't see the point in trying to pull 150watts from my molex when I already have two 8 pins (I really want to know if theres a 8 pin to 2x6pin since that would be perfect) I don't have any particular card in mind, (I'm just trying to see if I have the option of crossfire/sli come GTX 700/ati 8000). For example crossfire 7950 requiers 46amps which I have and im pretty sure that SLI GTX 670 require in the mid 40s

My motherboard says its SLI/Crossfire supported yet I don't know if my PSU can handle it. My powersupply is the corsair TX650w. Alot of cards require 2x 6 pin connectors (so 4 total for SLI) but my powersupply only has 2x 6+2 pin connectors I've read that technically 6+2 (8pin) is 150watts (equivalent of 2x6pin) so could I somehow get a 8pin to 2x6pin adapter ? (does that exist and if it does is it practical ?) If it doens't exist then its there anyway SLI/Crossfire is possible on this unit ? (im not looking to SLI/Crossfire the most power consuming cards out there, im just wondering if I even have the option to SLI/Crossfire some of the least demanding 2x6pin cards out there in the future). Thank You

I have the gtx 560ti video card and its been good but I recently got a money offer of $135 for it. I was planning on selling it for $135 and then spending $35 out of pocket for a GTX 650ti boost superclocked. Would this be a decent upgrade ? The reason i'm thinking 650ti boost SC is because I only have 2x6pin connectors yet I have a SLI/crossfire motherboard. I might try to spend $35 for a upgrade and if the GTX 700/8000 series cards aren't priced that well (for example I can't get a GTX 670/680 equivalent for $300 or under) I was going to try to SLI another GTX 650ti boost SC. If the GTX 700/8000 series is priced well then I will simply sell it Is this a good plan or should I wait
