So im guessing the picture quality is great during games ? I saw the monitor in store not that long ago and the black colors looked 10x better than the other LED monitors

I saw this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-260-109 and with promo code its only $144. Is this a good monitor for gaming ? I've read reviews about this product along with other ultrasharp monitors and the reviews have been great but I don't know if the people reviewing are using them for buisness or gaming.

[QUOTE="560ti"]So I should skip the Acer and try to get IPS monitor ? Bikouchu35

http://www.amazon.com/Dell-293M3-IPS-LED-23-Inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B009H0XQRS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372838730&sr=8-1&keywords=s2340

Be done wit. I got this as a stepping stone until 1440p or beyond becomes cheaper/mainstream.

Man you weren't kidding. I went to the store today to check out some monitors just for the hell of it and the dell S2340M blew them all out of the water (I couldn't believe how much better it looked than all the other monitors). The black/grey colors on the Dell made all the other monitors look like a joke (the black colors were as rich as my plasma TV which I found shocking). If this bad boy drops under $150 on sale them I will for sure pick it up (I didn't see a monitor under $300 as the store that looked better than it and there were about 35 monitors on display at that price range). I don't think we will see a 1440/1600p monitor with this type of picture quality under $300 for at least two years so I will probably buy the ultrasharp and keep it a couple of years

I swapped my Dads monitor with mine just to demo it and I liked it better (his monitor is a TN viewsonic http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116401 ). The extra 2 inches really made a difference (I will look for something that's at least 24 inch). How much better in terms of picture quality is an ISP monitor compared to my AOC and the viewsonic listed ? (both monitors are from 2009 so im hoping ISP is significantly better). I'm going to be on the lookout the next couple of weeks for sales on newegg (im going to selected ISP, $200-300 range, and wait till one of them goes on sale).

The picture on that 27" screen won't be as sharp as your 22" screen.C_Rule
Is that because its bigger or is it because the monitor is inferior in quality ?

The first link is what im currently using (22" AOC TFT) and the 2nd link is something lim looking at. Can you use a TV as a gaming monitor ? (I heard somewhere that PC games are programmed to run on monitors and that you can have visual annoyances by using TV).

This is my current monitor and its starting to show some age http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824160047 (its not very big and the picture quality is decent/average). How much of an upgrade would it be to get something like this ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009424 (im on the lookout for a 27 in monitor on sale for $200 or less)

I need some help on a trade. I'm currently in a postion where I can sell me 660 (non ti) Supeclock edition and pay $30 out of pocket for a 7870XT. Normally I wouldn't do such a thing but I was told that the 7870XT at stock is identical to a 660ti + it overclocks 15-20% without a hit in voltage (this review kinda got me interested http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Club_3D/HD_7870_jokerCard_Tahiti_LE/31.html ) Is this worth $30 or should i keep my 660 ? (does the 7870xt really overclock like a champ or is it hit or miss ?)
