I will make it simple and short. Expecting everyone to appreciate an art piece in the same manner is close to impossible. This game delivers in almost all aspects in single player. However it does fall a bit short on the multiplayer end of it. With that said, I agree that games should be made to be entertaining and fun. This game is more of a simulator that can be entertaining only if you have developed a taste for this style of gameplay. It is slow but rewarding. It is tactical but engaging. It is difficult at times but surprising. Operation Flashpoint has all the attributes of a good FPS.
I loved it instantly, especially because I know that this game is the last of its kind. I get the impression that the only way to comprehend DRAGON RISING and its incomparable content, people have to have an extended appreciation for combat. That indeed is not everyone. In all, the game was a success, even if it was not a hit amongst consumers. A 9.0 for its lone existence and methodical gameplay.
