I don't really know if EA thought this game would fly with football fans.

After having Madden 08 for the Wii, i was expecting something similar only with college football teams. I was not expecting the garbage that is NCAA Football 09 All Play.

here is my thoughts on the game:
The graphics are poor. At first i didn't really mind, but i just can't get past the fact that when I was playing a game with the Hawkeyes, I wasn't in Kinnick Stadium...even though i was the "home" team. The endzone graphics were the ones used a couple years ago, and not the newer version. I can now see why any screenshot I found of this game before it was released just showed closeups of the mascot mode.

Features that i have grown accustomed to in past versions of NCAA football on the PS2 are not included. There is no campus legend mode. There is no online play...I don't usually like playing with random people online for sports games, i would've liked to play with a friend. Madden 08 on the Wii has Superstar Mode and online play.

Passing is a burden. numerous times the ball will go to a completely different receiver than the one i was throwing to --usually when trying to throw to the open man down the field it will go to the receiver behind the line of scrimmage (yes my thumb was on the dpad during the entire throwing motion) I have no issues passing in Madden 08.

If you go to EA sports all play website, you can see they type of people they want to make their all play games accessible to. If that means making the game look "cute" for those people and stripping down the features to make it not look intimidating, then I don't anticipate buying another EA sports game with the words "ALL PLAY" featured as prominently on the packaging. They should've really named this game NCAA Arcade Football

I was thinking about getting this on the PS2, but don't know if i want to reward EA for releasing some crappy product on the Wii by buying another game. EDIT: I did pick the PS2 version up, despite EA's lack of updating animations and voiceovers, this version at least gives me a real football experience

I just hope that EA's stranglehold on football games come to an end soon. I am sure there are companies like 2k, who would love to have a chance to develop this game on the Wii.
