Gears Of War VS. Halo 3

And I doubt playing past Halo games would change your opinion on 3.... But I still sugest you get em, cuz they are alot of fun(don't bother with their multiplayers though, since Halo 3's multiplayer is just clearly supperior).

Same here really, but I was converted early o.o Just in time for Halo 2. I will admit, Halo 3 gameplay wise was not that big a jump, but it's still fun, and forge and theatre deffinatly made up for it.

Okay, here is your argument: I purchased this on day one with high expectations. It failed. Forge, and Zombie online kept me going for about 7 days. That was all. Once that wore off, I traded it in. It felt no different from Halo 2. It felt old, and I really didn't think I got enough NEW stuff for the amount of money I paid. I recently decided that I don't like this type of shooter AT ALL. Empty a bullet clip into someone and THEN they die. Not my style. As you can see from my Gamer card, I prefer realistic shooters.(Apart from gears of war: but the sniper and shotgun still meet myexpectations) I guessjust like the challenging feel of it. Take Rainbow six for instance: You get shot, you pretty much die. So NO Halo 3 does not make my prefered games list

I like But it gets OLD really Quick..Like not like Halo.Halo you can prob play for 5-6 hours with out getting boring but Gears 1-2 hours than that is I have to stop playing it.

Funny, thats how I fealt about Call of Duty 4.

None of the games you mentioned actually brought anything new, by the way(Especialy Call of Duty 4). And all shooters are reptitive. All shooters practice rinse and repeat formulas. It's not just Halo. Maybe you should get more variety.

Gears is just a dumbed down version of Halo. I'll give Gears the edge on SP, but for MP Halo is vastly greater then Gears. I mean how can anyone play a game where the host has a slight edge over you and there really isnt any way to overcome this besides outplaying the other person (ie getting them before they see you). Or the fact that ranked matches are dumb since you cant play with your friends and half of the ranked matches im in devolve into 1v1 matches since people never stay for the whole match.

What? Don't see how that's possible when Gears' learving curve is incredibly steeper than Halo's.

In my opinion I think Gears is better than halo. I played halo 3 and I liked it but i also didn't like it. I never was excited about the whole series. I played Halo 1,2, and 3. And of course 1 is my fav. But Halo 3 has it's goods. It's really easy to learn and doesn't take a genius how to learn and play. The new weapons and vechiles and maps and forge and theater. made another good edition. I also bought the game at midnight. I was expecting a pretty good game however though I wasn't that in to it. Even though me and friends played it a lot and a lot I never got in to it. I was good at halo too I didn't suck but I wasn't amazing good either I was average had my few kills here and there. But I got tired of it and traded it in didn't even finish the story line. I got Call of Duty 4 and I never regreted it. I believe reason why some might say "Once you go to COD4 you'll never go back to Halo" is the people that aren't in to halo that much. People that play it everyday and that have been playing since Halo 2 won't agree. Gears of War for me I was excited like I never did before. It looked beautiful, the characters looked nice, and the imfamous chainsaw the we all heard for the first time Co-Op with a friend. Everyone was excited about. The only bad thing about it is the fact about host advantage and bullet lag other than that in my opinion it's a masterpeice. Everyone was excited about that game I remember the first day it came out people were standing in line really excited. Overall I love Gears of War.

Keep in mind also people that when Gears of War did come out everyone in the magazines and gamespot and others said that "Bungie is really scared about Halo 3 if it was going to meet people expectations or not after gears of war came out." I mean think about it more weapons, vechiles, forge and theater, single player, and mulitplayer and of course 4 player Co-Op which Gears started.

P.S. Halo is at their last installment with Halo 3. However Gears of War is in their first and is just begining....

I'd say Gears of wars is better in Single Player, as I've bear it around 4 or 5 times.

Halo is better if you have more than one friend. The graphics are better(just because its a larger game, so more great graphics need to fit on the screen)

Halo mulitplayer is a blast, and I've seen half a million people on at one time, so you'll be getting games for a long time.

Halo and Gears of war community both are filled with little 12 year old trying to be tough.

My vote is Halo

Gears FTW!!! It feels next gen, where Halo 3 is just pretier graphics and no blood. Can't wait 4 Gears 2!
