[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"][QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="Hexagon_777"][QUOTE="sam280992"]I was trying to look for this thread yesterday, Since people were saying there was no vote.
Dreams-Visions
And those people got owned big time. What's even worse for them is that GameRankings is the clear winner.
:P
No, they didn't. Try again. This thread's title started off as "Unofficial vote of using GS scores on SW"
The thread title has now transformed into something a bit different. This was always an unofficial conversation and will always remain as such.
There has been no official discussion or vote to this end since the Jeff G. fiasco...and an unofficial thread will not suddenly become "official" because of deception (changed thread title & OP) and desperation of those trying to avoid ownage (yes, I'm looking at you two).
Epic fail.
No, no, good sir, the epic fail is on your side. People said there was no vote. What is this then? Official or not, there was a vote and people disregarded that simple fact. Not that it will account for anything apart from the fact that the majority of GameSpot users would prefer to use GameRankings.
Furthermore, it's the people who stick only to GameSpot that are the ones that avoid ownage (yes, I'm looking at you and everyone else that sticks only to GameSpot). I mean, yes, this is GameSpot, but in the real world, things go a bit differently. GameSpot acts as some sort of escapist world where people can make fun of Twilight Princess, Mass Effect and Ratchet & Clank despite them actually all being great games.
Being in denial about the above does not change the fact that, in the real world, all three of those games met hype and are indeed awesome games.
Epic fail.
Unofficial does not suddenly become OFFICIAL.
Can you get that through your head?
If everyone in the United States gathered together TONIGHT and took a vote by show of hands who'd like the President to be impeached, guess what happens to the President? He smiles and laughs. Wanna know why? Because it's not an OFFICIAL vote.
For a conversation like this to be official, it has to go through the proper protocols and channels.
1.) It certainly can't start off by calling itself "the unofficial thread" to do something. it means people won't take it with the same level of seriousness.
2.) It has to be recognized by one of our moderators (as has been done many times in the past, when this stupid idea was shot down before)
3.) It has to have a timetable for voting.
4.) An official tally has to be taken after the official voting period expires.
5.) The change would be added to the System Wars stickey
Do you see none of that has happened?
Can you comprehend why?
It's because this is not an official thread. You cannot derrive something "official" from something birthed with the premise of being "unofficial" that is also without sanction or recognition.
The fact that you can't see this most basic and simple truth (unofficial =/= official) is what will continue to make your cries to the contrary funny.
If you want an official vote (which you seem to), I'm sure you can PM cake, casey, Omni, JakeT or someone and see what's necessary to get that going.
Otherwise, give it up. You can't make something unofficial suddenly official because you want it to be.
/perspective.
Where on Earth did I say it was official? Read the first post of this quote chain. People said there was no vote. They were wrong. Furthermore, the vote clearly indicated that people would prefer to use GameRankings instead of GameSpot, but since it wasn't official vote, that won't happened. The only thing we gathered from this vote that the majority would like to use GameRankings.
You are clearly taking things out of context because I never once said that there was an official vote. I jokingly claimed ownage to the people that said that there was no vote when in fact there was. What's even worse is that clearly the majority wish to use GameRankings.
Stop riding around on the the word "official" when I never implied that it was official. Can you not understand that? People said that there was no vote but there was. Official or not, there was a vote. The vote doesn't mean much because it wasn't official. All it does is imply that the vast majority would prefer to use GameRankings.
I hope I have repeated myself enough in this one post. Nowhere do I say "Haha, official vote, everyone owned, LoLoLoL". I am simply laughing at the people who said there was no vote, official or not, when in fact there was one! Namely this one!
The fact that you can't see this most basic and simple truth (that I never said that this vote was officlal) is what will continue to make your cries to the contrary funny.
Otherwise, give it up. You can't make something I didn't say suddenly seem like I said it because it would fit your argument.
