Not really. I don't give a shit about Game of the Year. I never root for anything and I don't even play most of the games. But I prefer the old God of War games over whatever this is supposed to be. I know people like to bitch that the formula had grown stale, but there were better directions to take the series in than this. It's boring.
21 days? It took me just 5 days to beat the story mode and 4 days on the side mission just for the Valkyrie battles. Lighten up dude, the game get's better after you get the Blades.

It has taken me twenty-one days because it isn't that interesting or fun. I'll just keep grinding away at it bit by bit. As I played today, I was leaning back and to the side, sighing to myself, not a hint of joy on my face. I've sighed and rolled my eyes in previous sessions too.

You shouldn't waste time forcing yourself to like a game. The new formula doesn't seem to meet your standards of fun. There are some things I don't like about the new God of War but overall the game was very solid.
Honestly, I can get behind them taking the series in a new direction to keep things fresh. Having an over the shoulder perspective seems like it would make combat more methodical and exciting.
One thing which might put me off if I was a PS4 owner though would be the omission of the epic scale boss battles, since that was something I used to love about the original games.

@ezekiel43: I like the old gow games more, new god of war is overated and focuses too much on its story, (aggreed story isnt that good) throw on top it no longer feels like a hack n slash game, over the shoulder, no jump button, lazy puzzle design. I'll take nier automata or bayonetta 2 over it any day.

I'm saving some popcorn for the game of the year, it comes from the dev Moogenja games (an Xbox exclusive) and is a story about how a whole faction (lems) co-ordinated an attack on a cow to make that cow leave SW, now I've only seen a sneak peak trailer, and from the trailer I got the feeling it was a stealth game with a rich story set on planet internet.
The only other details I could find was its co-op with no SP, has a multiplayer mode but it is unknown how many players just yet. I was wondering when the full game comes out, you got a release date yet or care to share any other details???

@jeezers: Well, GOW is rather slow-paced. If you are not interested in the story, the game loses its appeal. I'm on my second playthrough on hard, but after completion I will probably never play it again. It has given me 40-50 hours of enjoyment. Great game, just not Game of the Year.
Classic cinema is very overrated when it comes to stories. I recommend reading a book.
But wow, God Of War was great! Gameplay feel was top notch and the presentation out of this world. Only Sony still makes single player games of this quality, amazing!

What does literature have to do with cinematic storytelling? You can't use that type of descriptive language in a visual medium. These games borrow much more from movies, hence the comparison.
