What salt? I can play Xbox games and the Xbox gamers cannot play my games. I can get 4K/60fps and the Xbox gamers cannot. The PC library is essentially an upgraded version of the Xbox's lol.

I misread the OP and confused the 580 with the 1060, I'll admit. Anyway, my point still stands, there's not a massive difference between them. Scorpio is going to perform better than the 390X at the very least. And with the architectural improvements along with lower drawcall overhead which is the norm on consoles, it'll be much better than either the 580 or the 1060.

Seriously? an AMD A6? That's as ridiculous as people using a freaking 5350 to compare to the PS4/XBO just because it has 'Jaguar cores'. These comparisons are laughable. A CPU with the exact same specifications will always perform worse when compared to consoles.

Remains to be seen. So far it's not exactly performing well in ROTTR in 4K.

To be fair the Xbox One X is decent for its price range but there is no way I would ever limit a gaming PC build to mid range performance of even the "worlds most powerful console" (until the PS5 launches and we start this charade again with Sony fans) if that even means anything to someone that actually wants powerful hardware.

No thinking Xbox one X is not worth your money is one thing, but saying Xbox one X isn't a great value for $500 and then trying to limit the criteria because your alternative doesn't match is a FAIL.

that desperation argument has dick to do with the value of the HARDWARE which the UHD player is, nice deflection on that argument but this thread was talking about price and value not program services.

If I was young asking something for Xmas or was my first time upgrading from a 360/Ps3 then sure, I'd opt for the $500 Xbox. Judging potential from Forza 7, if your income is limited, it's a good price for what you get.

The videos you used have different GPUs. The top one uses the 6GB variant of the 1060 which is actually as the 3GB variant in the bottom video.

The 6GB version is more powerful and not just a bump in vRAM.

From the articles i read from various developers, seems like everyone is liking what the xbox one x is offering for its price. Plus offering HDMI 2.1 to take advantage of future tv tech in 2018 is a nice touch. Optimisticly looking to see how vrr game mode works.

Then the cool things MS does on the side with cloud computing, the smart downloading of game files. Pretty cool to see MS looking at ways to enhance gaming outside of xbox.

OMG!!! So many people including TC believe 1080p/60 would be better? How on earth will I play games on my x1x next month with this knowledge? Other peoples opinions are Sooooooo important in my entertainment enjoyment.

Probably at checkerboarded 4K and 30 fps with dips into the 20s would be my guess.

XB1X has PC textures like for like (Very high setting)

XB1X has high frame rate mode, 4K mode or 4K enhanced modes..

My R9 Fury is faster than the GTX 1060 6GB and can run Tomb Raider in 4K, but you are laughing if you think the 3GB version will handle Tomb Raider at the same setting the XB1X can.

Only game to show a great showing on PC yet is Forza 7 from early slides of it's performance, AMD RX Vega GPU's out stripping Nvidia's 1080Ti by a big margin.

Oh dont forget the fun part.....still 10' away from the tv so the 1080 -> 4k jump is negligible.

That UHD player is one of the reasons that I'm interested in an XB1X because 4K streaming isn't even on the level of Bluray let alone UHD Bluray disks.

As a projector owner standard Bluray is far superior to even 4K streaming... But for pc gaming its completely irrelevant since even if you have a uhd drive a monitor at 24-34 inches is far from the best cinema experience. Also a £/$15 USB wireless adaptor and the job is done if you dont want wires... My wifes PC with a TP-link USB gets a faster connection than my ps4 which is in the same room and its a £10 dongle.

PC and consoles are not the same thing but for gaming PC wins unless you cant afford one for $800-1K the consoles are a great choice... But they are cheap POS when compared to even mid level pc's in quality and performance.

The point of the x1x is to defeat the pspro and compete with pc. It does a good job of that. It wasn't supposed to surpass pc.

The logic with some people on these boards is just terrible.

On PC, you're not always spending $800 + dollars though. Most people upgrade parts so it's incremental spending over a period of time which has a far different effect on your financial lifestyle unlike the incremental spending for an entire console with this new 3 year refresh scheme. For example I just upgraded to a $170 motherboard since the first Xbox 1 was released, which unlike a sudden $500 X1X, this $170 of increment to the latest tech which includes things like 60 amp power chokes or Japan 12k Black Capacitors will be far less prone to failure than any console while also increasing bandwidth between ram, cpu and gpu along with the M.2 socket for the potential of using 32 gbps SSD.

Since an upgrade like this offers a more solid foundation to the foreseeable future, it strengthens the performance potential over console release cycles to continue the incremental upgrade path. Next would be the 8700k CPU which has viability for several years before bottleneck's from future GPU's becomes an actual issue....so when the next Xbox releases, I wouldn't really have to upgrade anything but the only real performance candidate from there at that point would be a new GPU which again would propel performance far beyond whatever console they release. Things like the Case, mouse/kb..etc never actually need to be upgraded and other PC gaming related things would be a rare upgrade.

So of course in the long run by the time i'm dead, I may have spent more money but it's impact differences financially will not have any noticeable backlashes like the difference in monthly payment between an $80k house and a $120k house which isn't enough to deter one's lifestyle but yet you're living a better lifestyle.
