The Xbox One X isn't particularly great even at 500$...

Garbage for your standards and others like the TC, but you don't speak for everyone though. I'm happy with the regular X1S, runs games good enough for me, I'm just happy the X1X will be a nice boost. I don't care it won't run every game at 60 fps, this was never traditionally a thing for consoles they were never 60 fps machines and this will not change with the X1X, but it's still much more powerful than the base XOne so the price is justified for me.

Good for you and your super powerful PC that runs everything at 60 fps, you're too good for a piece of shit like the XOneX.... that's fine, your business. Still a powerful console with respect to what's out there now in the console world, and it will be fine for me, power-wise.....to each his own.

Wireless card!... XD, I can't get my PS4 to hold 30Mb/s and I have a 300Mb/s connection.

Next people will say hey the PC needs a monitor and a desk/chair. I would love to know how many console gamers are using 32" 720p TV's... I bet its 90%.

I get 40-50Mb/s with my Xone on my connection.

@bassman well it might sound weird but I played xbox 360 for 10 years till december 2016 (got ps4 pro and recently got a pc 1050ti 8gb ddr4 ram pentium g4560) and honestly xbox 360 was amazing and perfect and I believe I will survive just fine with my pc + ps4 pro +x360 combo.

saying one x is garbage for 500 is insane. One X its a pretty good piece of hardware and I might not buy it since Im very happy already with my gaming systems but it is still pretty nice the one x

I have a GREAT gaming computer and cannot wait to purchase my Xbox One X. It will be a GREAT purchase and I can't wait to play great games on it. Man it will be glorious and fun just like my PS4 Pro and Switch. Sorry I am a gamer and the rest of you are cry baby fanboys.

You're the one spreading misinformation here, comparing the xboxone x chip with the g4560 is ridiculous. This is a custom jaguar cpu, it murders the g4560

Besides it's mainly the ps4 that had problems with the cpu and it was mainly because of a lack of proper development gpgpu tools and experience, not because of a bottleneck. It's the reason why certain games took months of patching to best the xboxone performance in framerates.

The xboxone x has also a dedicated dx12 chip to alleviate the cpu.

Terrible thread. G4560 will only be enough when comparing performance to base consoles (PS4, X1) not XOX. You'll need something like a 6th gen mid range i5 and above. Also, I seriously doubt the GTX 580 gets anywhere close to One X's performance.

You'll also need a 1080 Ti to run the games half as good as the X1X.

Right, even though the original i7 with a modest overclock can run games at 4K 30fps with the right video card.

The X1X CPU while it has more threads to use its single core performance is FAR from the performance of a modern i3 while gaming. Not sure what you guys are drinking but numerous developers have already mentioned that the CPU is still a barrier for them.

A 2.3Ghz Jaguar chip is no where near the performance of a 2 core 4 thread G/i3 CPU at 3.5GHz+. The performance of the Jaguar chip is essentially what you get from AMD A6 laptop CPU's not even near the performance of a FX 6100.

90% of games perform better on 2-4 fast cores than 6-8 slow cores... Intel has proved this time and time again. Single core performance is king and at 2.3GHz no amount of cores will save you.

BTW the Xbox One X is TERRIFIC value for $500 and I cant wait to play awesome games on it. Such a wonderful machine it is, just like the PS4 Pro and Switch! Man it is a great time to be a gamer with all of this awesome tech around us!

I still recommend spending a little more and getting a decent PC as it is not just about what is available in the console world. It is about the games and PC is the best place to play them. With MS titles now on PC, now is as good a time as any to make the jump.

AMD Jaguar core's are trash in comparison to even AMD's own FX series and those get destroyed by i3's.

The closest thing we have to the X1X CPU is a AMD A6 2.0Ghz Jaguar chip and its absolute garbage in comparison to a MOBILE i5... But a Desktop i5?... Your drinking something that's for sure.

It's actually a fair bit slower.

Pretty much any i7 from any era can beat the potato CPU in the X1X unfortunately. There are numerous videos out there proving that the 920 can still run most modern games at 60 fps at 1080p, and 30 fps at 4K when overclocked to 3.6+ Ghz. (which 99% of them are able to achieve).

If I disable 2 cores on my 970, which is running at 4.0 Ghz, it's pretty much the same story.

@BassMan: Fair enough, yeah for sure if I go back to PC gaming I would do it properly and would spend enough to get a beast in all areas cpu, gpu, ram, video card., etc. It sucks having a powerful PC overall with a clear bottleneck( just to save a little $$ or whatever) I would not want that, it would be a waste because some of the components would be held back from their full potential because of a bottleneck. That's one of the advantages of PC gaming, you can upgrade one single component if you want, whenever you want.

These arguments seem really stupid to me. For $500 its a decent console. I prefer PC and the open platform it brings, but if someone wants to buy teh goddamned pre-built box with a closed ecosystem thats their prerogative.

And I never said the X1X was a bad console. I'm simply saying the performance it offers for its price is nothing to be amazed at.
