The recently held maintainance was for a reason after all. Several reports from users the world over suggests that you can no longer access PSN if you have been foolish enough to use the PSJAILBREAK device.

Our sources can confirm that this is indeed true and Sony has blocked access to PSN for anyone with a hacked PS3. This was implemented during the recently concluded maintainance that PSN went through last night.

Do note that this will be in effect even if you DON'T update to the current firmware update. Sony has implemented a system which will detect your hacked PS3 as soon as you connect to PSN.

If you have been using the PSJ and can't access PSN yourselves, kindly let us know. You should have known better though, you got what you deserved!

Well, good news I guess :S Couldn't care less what happens to people who are trying to steal games and thus hurting the industry :S But I'm pretty sure they'll find a way around that :S If Sony really want to do somethign against them, they should just release a firmware that destroies the PS3 of Jailbreak users by overheating or something like that :S

Sincerely, you are missing the point guys. He did not insult anyone, he was just trying to say that theft and copyright infringement are not the same in the eyes of the law. We are saying it's morally wrong despite what an outdated law says. The reason of piracy is the fact you're being anonymous, that's why it has such a rate. The reason why people don't steal goods is not because it has a cdifferent penal code... it's because it's a faceless crime, and you don't have to run away with the object till the security of the shop can't track you anymore. People pirating would probably steal a TV that is in the street, pending to be placed in the shop, if no one was there to testify the theft.

So yeah piracy is wrong and bad, but in the eyes of the law it isn't a theft of a material object. The theft would be going into a store which paid the retailers price of a game and stealing it.
