I want a valid reason how objectifying a women could lead to problems.

Maybe if you are an insecure girl, but that's your problem!

Gaming-Planet

There are no problems created by objectificatiion...none whats so  ever.

Sometimes I feel like ppl tend to forget these are games...

I've been gaming for 24yrs now and I never felt men were being objectified considering the majority of male lead characters in videogames were all big/muscled men...

So nude women in paintings/sculptures = art but semi-naked with oversized bouncing breasts fantasy/cartoonish female characters in videogame  = objectification of women

[QUOTE="BPoole96"]

[QUOTE="tagyhag"]This is what happens when you let people like Anita live.jg4xchamp

Are you proposing that we no longer allow Anita Sarkesian to live?

This aspect of this I don't like. It's not that I agree with, it's not that I don't think her arguments don't have their flaws, but it is not a bad thing for this industry to actually talk about the shit she brings up.

I don't think ...gamespots review disservices the game as the game gets most of the credit it deserves. I have major disagreements with the assessment of the art direction(I don't think the female designs are out of place in that game, they fit that arty style fine). But I do find it to be a bit of a disservice to this medium for not at least accepting some broad(lol get it? broad?) aspects of Anita's arguments.

Modern media in all forms has developed some not so flattering habits that it almost doesn't even seem to address. I think another aspect that needs to be talked about is where the f*ck are the women game designers? There is no way in 2013 we have had the audience expanded as much as we have, and the only women game design that I can think of off the top of my head is Amy Henning from naughty dog. That seems crazy to me, because the best way we start getting better representation of women is going to be through actual women.

But alas gaming journalism never really steps up to the plate for this type of stufff.

some professions attract one gender more than others

why arent more women off-shore oil rig workers?

or I.T consultants?

or truckers

etc

I agree with Polygon. There is a lot of pretty much soft-core porn in there. The East needs to get their crap together and stop.Easyle
If you think CLOTHED, large-breasted women faffing about is softcore porn, then you are an idiot. Softcore porn is full on porn without shown genitals.

This political correctness needs to die. clyde46

It won't. The country will die as a result of it first. But that was probably the point.
