NPD: PS4 continues its winning streak, best selling console in Feb

PS4 is on top again for both hardware and software in the United States, with Sony Computer Entertainment boasting “strong year-over-year” growth on both counts in a press release.

The top selling software chart is as follows:

1. Far Cry: Primal (PS4, Xbox One)
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
3. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
4. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm (PS4, Xbox One)

I can't believe GTAV is still doing so good. They should really make a new one of those. Or better yet a new Red Dead Redemption.

A lot of people enjoy them. I think that is the definition of "casual" we are using these days. I disagree with that definition but I was outvoted by all the "hardcore gamers".

GTA V won't stop selling until everyone owns it. Incredible.

Just sad seeing the software top ten. Always dominated by multiplats and the one exclusive is from a handheld. Just shows no one cares about exclusives on consoles. Sad month for lems and cows.

Finally the irony, Sony marketing rights to Black Ops 3 and MS for Fallout 4 if I'm correct. And they sell better on the competing platform.

GTA5 at 3rd is pretty crazy after all this time. Hope they are hard at work on 6 and RDR.

It's good to see the game chart after all the hate it got from the media can't say it's not deserved although the Game is amazing still Capcom handled the launch really bad it would be smart for capcom to rerelease the game after it gets all it's modes this summer for a discounted price and maybe give the early adopters some in game bonuses.

"LOL VGChartz" estimates SFV's console sales at around 530K, in a few weeks it can be more underwhelming in sales than Rise of the Tomb Raider. Sad, I expected it to do better. Capcom needed this to get on their feet and invest money in other franchises. Guess only way we're gonna see another Dead Rising game is if Microsoft fronts the money, which I doubt they'll do.

I don't know if it's reliable either, honestly I do not know much about it, but 530k and 138k as loose figures equal close to 700,000. Given that this game has almost zero gameplay in a single player capacity it's pretty safe to assume that almost every person who has bought and played this game has played ranked matches, because there's really nothing else to do.

So, I'd say 600,000 to 650,000 copies on PS4 would be a pretty fair estimate given the state of things, that's still not very good considering what the game is and the franchise it hails from.

That B Ball coincides with the NBA season which ends in June 2016. So it makes sense that if keeps charting.

SONY has strategically dominated the competition so effortlessly that I even lemmings can't help but admit SONY's genius business acumen. There isn't a more perfect company than SONY. SONY has all the best geniuses working for them.

You're just incapable of seeing SONY's winning strategy.

SONY is intentionally delaying their best 1st party exclusives so that MS can blow their load at the start and end up with low sales with no ammo for when the war really begins (Year 3). Xbone's sales are falling YoY due to no potential exclusives while the PS4 is increasing YoY because people are awaiting greatness.

SONY has just whopped MS and made them look like amateurs. MS is some mom & pop store while SONY is wal-mart. That's the difference between SONY's business acumen and Microsoft's.

So what you're saying is that the Destiny community is full of a bunch of dumb man babies?

I don't care how good Microsoft's games are (They're garbage, in all honesty). If Microsoft is incapable of making winning business plays, then their business will die and it will be a waste of investment. I'd rather go with the company with crappier games but with good business acumen to sustain their business. Luckily, SONY has both good business acumen and good games.

It's way easier for a game to chart in February than November and maybe even September at times depending on the year. ROTR would have most likely charted if it released this month instead of november. SFV probably won't chart next month.

Well when you are going against the world's most powerful console in the history of video games its to be expected.
