No Man's Sky Angryjoe review 5/10

Perfectly accurate score for this shallow game. More detailed and more in depth review of this $60 indie game than any gaming focuses sites. After this 5/10, i bet you every lem loves him very much lol


For the record, Quantum Flop received the exact same score from him.

Most important thing to this, is 5/10 = average.

I'm not watching that. Everytime I watch one of his videos I regret it. NMS is so last week anyways. Who cares?

Props to Joe for actually calling out everything removed from the game, you won't see any "official review" really hold HG accountable for that.

Pretty much agree with everything he said, and I am still enjoying the game, but this is a $20 indie game disguised as a AAA title.

A 5/10 is what I would give it but I kinda felt he was being generious on the score and this review was his best since Destiny.

$60 for a tech demo that didn't have half the stuff that was promised leading up to released.

I'm a lem and I actually like NMS, I just can't justify its $60 price tag. Anyhow, looking forward to his review to see what he nailed and what he misses.

Finally watched it. I totally agree with him on all major points.

When I first saw this game being announced I thought it would be a $20 game, and if it were, even if it wasn't all it was promised, I would feel it's still worth it. But yeah, $60, I'd wait. If it were a cheaper game I could overlook many of its annoying problems.

I still find myself drawn to playing it nonetheless. There's a lot of problems that need to be ironed out with updates, like glitches, or acquiring blueprints but they're not there to use, or problems with acquiring blueprints or learning words you've already learned (not sure if happened to me yet but showed up in the video). There's definitely a playable game to be salvaged, and worth getting if the price ever drops.

This game should've never been hyped as much as it was... we can blame Sony for that. And it shouldn't be priced as a full game either (maybe Sony again?). I'm still keen to try it out though, if it ever comes to XB1 that is. Hopefully they'll add more stuff by then...

@silversix_: Never cared for him or thought he was all that funny. But at one point in the video him and his buddy are playing and they just say, "**** this game, man". I LOL'd because I think every gamer has said that at one point or another in their life.

Kudos and much respect to you, bro. You say you would give it a 5/10 but you're also enjoying the game. I enjoy many games that I don't consider all that high on a scale of 1-10.

5/10 sounds a bit harsh considering he said for "for 8-10 hours it was like his childhood dream come true", and even in his conclusion he said it "does more than any 5/10 game that I've ever rated".

But they do deserve to be called out on the stuff they promised that were not part of the game. I was seriously LOL'ing at the "Liquidator Emru" and all ships being the same. That is just WTF worthy stupid. Even if they failed at making "infinite ships", for god sakes they had to at least have 10 or 20 ship models and a few difference classes to choose from. This is probably something that will be patched in or sold as DLC, if it's fixed through "free" patches then the game might be one to keep an eye on. If they go with the "DLC" route for all the fixes, that would be pretty sad.

Oh but i'm well aware of how the game is. Him, stating all the problems and lies sure fit my "opinion". What he stated about the game are facts and it does not matter if i agree with his review or not, the game is heavily flawed. Also, this is not the first time i fully agreed on his review score, he is almost always spot on *in my point of view*. Guess his reviews fit my "opinion" 8 times out of 10.

His review scale is weird. I don't know in what world, other than in baseball, is 50% considered acceptable.

You get a 50% in school or do 50% of your work in your job you would be labeled as a failure. I don't get how 50% is considered acceptable.

I see this is the type of game where people will keep posting a new thread for each negative review for the next month to... convert the heathens who like the game? If not that, then what? Validate the egos of those who already hate it? We get it, this multi-platform game, that some are pretending is a Sony game, is widely reviled.

I really don't get why people dislike Angry Joe and this review, did any of you even play NMS? Ignore the score, the meat of the review is spot on. Ha, that intro pretty much embodies like 80% of the game.

I love angry joe's reviews. Ive watched them for so long, so im always hyped about a new one. As excited as i was for NMS, i cant neglect all the major issues it has. Ill likely pick it up once it drops to around 30 bucks.

Also DD deserved its 7, though id say Dark Arisen could bump it to a 9.5 easy.

Flop of the year is Quantum Break. NMS is still selling like crazy regardless of its quality. Quantum Break basically destroyed Remedy.

I think this game could've been scored and received way better, if only they sold it for around 10-15 bucks.

Because there is no way on earth this copy-paste game is worth 60 buckaroos.

It's fact the game isn't what it was claimed to be. When does opinion make it fact? Fact has to come from something, so how many tens of thousands of people saying the same thing does it take before it becomes fact that the game isn't very good?

I don't know what the developer was thinking wen he failed to address the significant amount of missing content. I don't care what your circumstances are, if you're going to release a game with a lot of missing features that you yourself confirmed months prior, you absolutely let people know that shit hit the fan before they purchase the game, and reasonable state that you'll add this promised content through patches as time goes by.

You give context to the situation, and you explain. Sure, you'll get hate because people can be unreasonable fucks, but most would have understood because Hello Games is a small indie team consisting of 15 people. But no, instead you stay silent throughout all of this, you don't deny your lies or give any explanation after its shoddy release and you completely ignore the issue at hand. Mostly just so you can maximize sales.

the numbers keep tanking, like i said repeatedly, once that honeymoon phase wears off this game offers nothing but mundane repetition of meaningless tasks, bland mechanics and procedurally generated boredom.

Yes they do, his vids and reviews regularly pulls half a mill to millions of viewers easily, depending on the title hes reviewing.

Hes hilarious asf, its just entertaining to watch his overdramatic antics but thats just the way he is. Hes my fav reviewer because of that(besides that he always articulate and explains his points and reasonings very very well), even though some of my favourite games he absolutely hated haha. He also usually take his time and don't rush his reviews like many others for the early bird clicks. He was criticised for that, lol. (a reviewer taking his time to properly, you know, review a game? What is the world coming to..)

You don't have to hate or be degrading to every person you disagree with, you know...

I actually like AJ reviews, yes he goes over the top and a bit long at times but I find his reviews are pretty accurate and explains why he thinks the way he does.

Sure, why not? His reviews are light hearted and he doesn't take himself too seriously like some youtube game reviewers do. He's usually pretty spot on too in my opinion, not like some of the idiots out there trying to defend NMS by calling it "relaxing".
