Another speculation:

Could they be hinting at a new Eeveelution in light of the announcement coming Tuesday? Ash is currently battling in the Unova League (in Japan) and one of the contenders, Virgil, owns an Eevee and all of its evolutions. Could we see his Eevee evolve into a new Eeveelution during the League? Blaziken was first introduced in the Johto League, after all. There have been many Eeveelution promotions these past few months, and the Genesect movie is also going to feature an Eevee mini-movie, so could this all be leading to a new Eeveelution or is this all just a happy coincidence? I don't know for sure, but it's all just a tad too convenient to not be leading up to something in my opinion...

+ the announcement is on the 8th and if they do reveal a new eeveelution, it will be the 8th one.

That tweet has good timing, if the announcement isn't actually an Eeveelution. Nintendo may be trolling us for speculating this.

Since it seems like there is gonna be a new gen or a new B&W game. I wonder how long it will take for me to store my starter somewhere safe inside that box in the new game. Also, gonna reload constantly until my starter is female. Like I do with every gen since gen 3.

The time has come. Remember this is only the announcement, by the time it actually releases it will have been 3 years.

It really is not comparable with many other franchises when it releases three games per gen and remakes.

20 games over 16 years. With the games being very similar.

Compared to Dynasty Warriors in 15 years which has 14 games.

Its not even the number of games but the lack of progression and Nintendo's tactics to milk the consumer (three versions) of many of the titles.

There are so many already, we don't need 150 new ones.

Each set of games is one game (one gen)

And B/W 2 is the equivalent of the 3rd version, although granted that could count as the sixth game considering the plot is different and there are new areas, also remixed old areas/gyms.

It's a tough call because it's definitely mainline, but it doesn't feel like a new entry, more like an expansion pack.

I can give you B/W 2, but I feel that it's more like gen 5 part 2. For me gen VI will be the sixth proper entry.
