New Super Mario Bros. 2 IGN Review

It got an 8.5.

'It is impossible not to be drawn in by the simple perfection of New Super Mario Bros 2s mechanics and level design this is as pleasurable and effortless as 2D platforming gets. But its also impossible not to be disappointed that its over so quickly, and doesnt offer anything really new. The best Mario games reinvent themselves at the same time as paying loving homage to what went before; they take something you know and love and make it feel new all over again. New Super Mario Bros doesnt do that - but its a delightful game while it lasts, and still the best 2D platformer on the 3DS.'

So a well made, but wholly unremarkable game, then. Sounds about right.

Should be more like a 4. This is why girls shouldn't review games. This is the one reviewing Dark Souls as well. Obviously she should be working with something else. Like for example being a principle in a high school. If she has the qualifications of course.themajormayor

so basicly if you liked NSMB its just more of it and nothing els. I would liked another super paper mario wii. That was the last mario game I really had fun with.

I'll be getting it down the line, I'm never tired of Mario games.

Just one more mediocre game for the 3DS.Same graphics,levels and music.......nothing new and boring.

GS will probably rate it lower than that

I am getting sick on Nintendo and there lazy approach to game making, but the games are still fun and I still buy the Mario games.

After wasting 50 euros on NSMBW, I don't think I'll bother with this one.

so basicly if you liked NSMB its just more of it and nothing els. I would liked another super paper mario wii. That was the last mario game I really had fun with.

Lol people thinking 8.5 doesn't mean special, that is an amazing score.

I generally find IGN reviews to be accurate, so I will probably get this game once I get a 3DS.

Hopefully it gets 6.0 on GS. Seems like IGN overrated the game when reading their own review (what a surprise), hopefully GS gives it a more appropriate score.

Not really, it would be silly if nintendo could literally make a rehash and call it a sequel and get a pass when other games cannot and this is not only for nintendo, but for all the more popular devs/IPs

I was never really excited about this one even if New Super Mario Bros. Wii is one of, if not, the most well designed Mario game to date IMO. I have a feeling this new game will be just as alright as the first DS NSMB... Fun, but nothing particularily special.

This game is the only reason i regret selling my 3DS. Looks great!

New Super Mario Bros is a great great 2D platformer..... more of the same? YES PLEASE.

Only downfall I see is that its over too fast.... but since I"m the kind of person who takes enjoyment in besting my own records / and others', then I think I will get lots out of my purchase.

I expect 7.5 here. Doesn't even seem like Ninty tried.

Typical too affraid to give an honest review. With the typical 8.5 score.

Graphics look no better than super mario on the DS. The 3D effect doesn't work. The music is the same. The gameplay is the same. An 5 hour campain that is too easy.

It's probably going to get a 7.0 or 7.5 and maybe an 8 on GS.
