[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"]Dreams-Visions. That's who I am. Remember it.
And no, a 90-minute cutscene undermines GAMING. That's why it was a stupid idea. That's why Kojima never did it. That's why it should be a non-issue to anyone but Cows who tried to defend the idea but are now faced with the prospect of either back-tracking (self-ownage) or maintaining this same ridiculous argument that an hour and a half cutscene placed in the middle of what is billed as an interactive product isn't a bad thing.
Do your thing, Cow. It's a free country. You are also free to claim that the sky is a beautiful shade of forest green with purple rhinestone highlights. But don't be upset with me when I tell you you're wrong. Same goes for any other fanboy who would suggest the forwarding of ideas the undermine the nature of GAMING.
Enjoy your day, good sir.

Well then, D-V, I am Organic_Machine. I am no cow. I've never owned a PS console in my life. Remember it. Also remember, that you have an opinion. You say it gets in the way of gaming. Others say it enhances gaming.
Why do you play games? Entertainment. As long as you're entertained, it's fine. The same goes here. If a game offers me a 4 hour cutscene, and it is insanely entertaining, do I give a ****? No. You can keep your shallow definitions of what constitues a game. See if I care. I am open to new experiences, and you appear to be shallow.
And, I am open to exploring your viewpoint more in this discussion, good sir. But, if you're going to be ignorant, then you'll only make a fool of yourslef.
Good day, kind sir.
If you want a 90-minute cutscene (static, non-interactive experience), go watch a movie. That's all that is.
If you want an interactive experience (where you have control over the experience), go play a game.
Meshing of the 2 is fine to a degree and MGS games have done it right in the past. Now that his rumor has been ABJECTLY DISPELLED, we know that MGS will *continue* to do it right.
Why are there no 90-minute cutscenes in any game and will NEVER be? Because it undermines the integrity of gaming. Gaming's foundation is interactivity. When it's not interactive for extended periods of time, it's not reasonable to call it a game.
Period.
End of story.
Why you continue to suggest someone should want to sit through 90 minutes of non-stop cutscene is baffling to me. Nobody but the most extreme of MGS fanboys would do that. And NEWSFLASH: MGS4 must be sold to more than just MGS fanboys in order for it to be a commercial success.
So tell me where the flaw is in my final analysis. Do you honestly think 90-minute cutscenes are a logical or reasonable direction for games to go in? If so, then what is your rationale for us not ever having a 90-minute cutscene. And what is your explanation for this game not having one either?
Don't worry. I'll wait.
