If Chuck Norris likes it then I hate it.

First post and vote, ujelly? Until I learn more about it I don't see it scoring above 8.5.

I liked it better than Galaxy :P You could tell a lot more work was put into Galaxy...but I just had way too much with New Super Mario Bros Wii. Local multiplayer is so much fun :) (Especially with 4 people you love hanging out with)

Don't know much about it (can't look into it now because my phone has limited data) but after Epic Yarn, my disinterest in the Kirby franchise remains. KEY was a well-made game (with enough artstyle for 10 games) and despite being way too easy, was enjoyable for what I played of it (got to the 5th world I think). I'm not interested in anything to do with Kirby, but do praise that Nintendo turned around so quickly and us releasing another, probably quality title. Now, only if they would do the same with Metroid. And this time pick a third-party with the skills to do it justice and make it hard, but accessible, just like NSMBW and DKCR. A 2D-plane focused game would definitely be nice... but I'd definitely prefer a Retro-made Prime 4 taking full advantage of the Wii U and its controller.

The multiplayer is the only thing that saved the game.

Still that game was so lacking compared to SMB3 and SMW.

I'm not sure we played the same game... because the level design in NSMBW was well beyond that of any 2D Mario to date. World 7 and 8 were filled with some absolutely brilliant levels, especially 8-7. Did you go into it with raised expectations? Because I can see being disappointed if that's the case. I went in with absolutely no expectations and was FLOORED by the end of World 1. As soon as I got to the castle and the difficulty ramped up, it was nothing but greatness from there. Don't let nostalgia get in the way of seeing both NSMB games... because they are a major step forward for 2D Mario. Wall-jumping alone adds a whole other dimension to the platforming. What I thought it lacked was a unique artstyle and other content (like DKCR with its time trials and puzzle pieces). As a no-frills 2D Mario platformer, it is definitely the best available. As is NSMB on the DS. After going back to the older ones (Yoshi's Island notwithstanding) I find it difficult to get as much enjoyment from them as I used to. The lack of wall-jumping is a big part of it.

Funny thing about that is kids don't play Kirby. They themselves think it's too kiddy. Mostly teenagers and adults in their 20s play Kirby because they grew up with Kirby.

Don't get me wrong. The game is good, just not that good compared to SMB3 and SMW when those games have better map, bigger levels, and SMW having an enormous amount of secrets. NSMBW is floaty too.

Kirby is for Pansies.
Donkey Kong is for MEN.
*Votes last option without giving a damn about MW3...Like a MAN*

-----

Hoping Kirby's more speed run-able this time around compared to KEY. I'm aware there are beat-em-up elements but it's not like you have to fight, right?

People who chose the fifth option are sad, sad people. Anyway, I predict AA, but the game itself might be AAA for me. I just love the pink powder puff.

calvinsora

It's true!

-----

I'm going with A. Considering DKCR's existence, I expect a lot more out of the visuals. Platforming will likely be light/not much of a factor in level design due to beat-em-up elements. Fighting looks meh to me.

Haven't played a Kirby game aside from KEY. Looking to see if Kirby's been successful in the past at doing what it does.

That was the intention of my post, if you chose the fifth option. There are almost no games ever made for babies, so that's a ridiculous claim in and of itself. So, in extension, anyone that claims such a thing by only looking at the exterior, is quite sad indeed. However, I may have gone too far in calling the people sad. It's more that that viewpoint is profoundly sad.

I'm still not sure we played the same game... because the levels in NSMBW were just as big, or bigger than those in previous games, and it also had more of them. I feel like I'm talking with myself from a couple years ago, lol. Of course its "floaty," all Mario games are. NSMB just has better physics which more closely resemble the mechanics of gravity in reality. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying you are selling NSMBW very short.... it can definitely keep up with the best of them, and is a forward-pushing game that has evolved the 2D Mario games past its roots. I also think nostalgia is playing a large part in your opinion of the game. Not that nostalgia is bad, but it clouds objectivity. The difficulty and level-design are the best they've been in the series to date... that much is basically fact. And the co-op adds a whole other dimension.

Real men don't worry about whether or not something is intended for them :P DKCR is awesome, though, so I can't really disagree with you in anything else.

Eventhough is multiplayer and looks similar to Super Mario Bros. Wii in the aspect of multiplayer. It isnt. According to gamespot it is actually really fun to play with your friends with Kirby Wii and since their are less deadly edges and platforms, you wont get killed by your friends every minute. Gamespot says it is also helpful to have friends play with you. The more, the better.

Personally, Im hyping it as AAA, though it will probably get a 7.5 knowing how gamespot and all other sites have rated recent games.

[QUOTE="93BlackHawk93"]Don't get me wrong. The game is good, just not that good compared to SMB3 and SMW when those games have better map, bigger levels, and SMW having an enormous amount of secrets. NSMBW is floaty too.foxhound_fox

How can that be fact? :?

It may be nostalgia but in the older games you could fly, have Yoshi on every level, more suits and weren't that straight forward. Floatiness makes the games much easier imo (world 9 was a real challenge tho).
