9/2022 - The Last of Us Part 1 Remake for PS5

03/2023 - The Last of Us Part 1 Remake for PC

Down to only 6 months now. Day and date coming up with PS5 multiplayer exclusives!

Thank you Lyin' Jim Ryan!

You always run to TLoU pt 1 for ownage. 😂😂😂

What about GT7, and Demon Souls. I know that Rift Apart is coming to the pc, but when, seeing that it came to the ps5 in 2021.

Just posting facts. They also said day and date for PlayStation Studio multiplayer games on PC and PS5. So it looks like sooner than later now, and Jim Ryan is just full of it.

Jim isn't lying considering what led him to giving that response.

The interviewer said they'd like to see more PS5-exclusive and he basically replied, "yes, there will be more PS5 exclusives and, those will be staggered on PC". That doesn't conflict with their live service games releasing day one on PC. There'a also additional context layered throughout the interview that makes it pretty clear they are talking about single player exclusives.

TLOU 1 Remake for PS5 came out onto PC 6 months later, and is a single player exclusive.

It was first announced for PS5 and, PC.

It's also a clear outlier compared to everything else they've done on PC. Two to three years is pretty spot on even when you look at games like Returnal, Rift Apart (TBD) etc.

Looking at trends, the release on PC is getting closer and closer to day one launches.

That isn't necessarily true.

Their initial ports were definitely older at release but, pretty much almost everything since Days Gone has taken ~2 years.

Ex. We're still waiting on Rift Apart and, that games turns two years old next month. Heck, Ghost of Tsushima hasn't even been released on PC yet.

They went from not having any PC ports during the same gen, to having PC ports during the same gen. They went from never having PC ports on day one to now having PC ports on day one for multiplayer. They went from having PC ports 5 years out to having them 6 months out. Legacy of Thieves Collection came out 10 months after the console release for the collection.

The trend is substantially closer to day one release than it has ever been. Don't believe Lyin' Jim Ryan.

Let me translate the PR speak:

We don't yet have processes, resources and structures in place to do competent PC releases as evident from TLOU 1 and the former PC ports. We are developing these capabilities but until that happens we can't do day 1 releases. I mean it's a known fact that we have chimps for software engineers, and PC development requires competent devs who knows what they are doing. That's why we acquired Nixxes but they are just one studio who can't do everything for chimps at other studios. Even HZD had to be fixed by them years later.

You're coming to that conclusion because you're looking at it from two extremes.

What happens to "having PC ports 5 years out to having them 6 months out" when Rift Apart or Forbidden West or Ghost of Tsushima releases on PC? It's clear as day that TLOU Part 1 and, Legacy of Thieves Collection are outliers. In fact, Ragnarok has already been out for 6 months.

@SolidGame_basic: So, you've finally admitted you are a cow. Wonderful.

This is a big step for you to acknowledge past lies.

He is not a cow. He does own an Xbox, and most likely uses it more often than you, dabear.

He does not own an XBox. He even went as far as to post his XBox card - without his gamer tag (because he got it from someone else). He had no problem posting his PS account profile, with gamer tag, though.

As a ps5 owner myself, i can easily sense when someone is a cow or not. He is not one. He has been praising his underpowered Switch more often than the ps5 as of late.

Then, you are not paying attention to his posts.

@shellcase86: True, but at least we knew some things were happening.. hopefully the shower is an absolute banger, because I'm tired of them only pushing 2 or 3 big IPs. That is one thing that set SONY apart from MS. At this point they need to blow the doors off with this show. All we've really heard other than rumors is that they have canceled two and maybe even three live service games, and those were the games I was looking forward to the most. Even if they were trash I'd like to have seen what they were.
